Bug with golden Sea Giant in arena

I’m offered a non-golden Sea Giant in arena despite having 2 golden copies of the card. My collection tells me that it is an uncraftable core set card. I don’t think I originally had any golden copies of Sea Giant, so I must have gotten them when they introduced the core set.

So the problem might be wider than just Sea Giant, might be worth checking it out if the golden card arena interaction is bugged with more of the core set cards. Very frustrating in my case since I wanted to have my first ever full golden arena deck and I spent thousands of dust on earlier cards and now due to this bug I’m in trouble.

Sea Giant is in the Core set and in the Classic set. You don’t own the Core version, as the Core Set is on loan and available to all players.

Well, the net result is a bugged interaction regardless if it is called a loan or owning of the card.

Arena only shows golden versions of cards if you own the card, either by crafting it or finding it in a pack. Since you did neither with the Core-set golden Sea Giant, the Arena won’t show the golden version.

No bug here.

You must be way too deep into this to realize the absurdity of what you are saying here.

You are telling me that the 2 copies of golden Sea Giant that I have in my collection, they are not actually real, an illusion, a loan…And there is no way for me to ever play with fully golden arena deck because I’m unable to craft an actual real golden Sea Giants because I have the imaginary ones on the way and they are uncraftable…

I noticed of this bug in first place when I went to craft myself a golden Sea Giant, right. As I did with other non-golden cards that picked up. And saw that I already had 2 copies of and was unable to do anything further. I know it is a minor issue, but I do hope it eventually gets to people who can fix this.

You can play with a fully golden deck, you just have to filter by Legacy and craft a golden Sea Giant that will be permanently added to your collection.

Thank you, this worked. It is really unintuitive so I still think there is a overall problem there that should be looked at. But at least it worked as a quick fix so thanks!

edit: I played mostly from 2014-2017. So now after being thoroughly explained about core set, what it is and how it interacts with Arena, Standard etc, I could see how if you operate deep inside that knowledge, how one might be able to miss forest through trees and not see this as a bug. But looking from outside the end net result from point A(there is a golden copy of a card when you search for it in collection) to point B(it’s not golden when offered in arena), it’s fairly obvious that something has gone wrong in between, right. And while the explanation that it is not actually the same Sea Giant, that there is a core Sea Giant that is not real and another real legacy Sea Giant…While it works and I get it, I hope it comes across just how absurd it would be for anyone looking at this from outside. They are both 10 mana 8/8 minions with identical artwork, text and name, how should anyone ever know intuitively that they are actually 2 different versions of a card aye
