There were 3 players left. I fought with the same person twice. And then there wasn’t a fight for the 1st place. I just took the 2nd place for some reason. The winner had tied twice against an eliminated player and than he took 1st place without any fights with me.

Have the same Problem the first Player dont play and win the game on first place pls fix the bug is go on disconectet Internet
I just experienced the same issue. One player dropped out after the first round, and despite only having one minion and losing every round, this player remained in first for the entire game. When it got to the point where it was only the dropped out player and me left, the game ended, and I finished in second.
Me too just, I even only got 2nd Place in the game (so not a visual bug), when I CLEARLY won the Battleground… I don’t think this is a bug though, I think it IS in fact people hacking (or how some others would call it “clever use of game mechanics”) the game. Because the History showed that the “first player” lost against me two times, when I hadn’t faced him for like 5 turns …
BTW he stole the achievement to win with Y’Shaarj as well… so I am EXTRA pissed. I have screenshots too.

It’s an old bug that was fixed, snuck back in, was fixed again, and somehow is once again back (WTF how do you let a fixed bug return multiple times?). A player dies but isn’t counted as dead, screwing everything up. You still get the proper MMR despite what your placement says it did (the screen could say you’re 8th, but if you actually placed 1st you still get 1st place MMR). But seems it DOES mess with the placement achievement (achievements didn’t exist the previous times this bug was in the game).
Getting less than 200 rating while i’m not even at 5k is waaaaay too low for a presumed first place…
I only remember this bug with the Lich King, and ONLY with the LK in the game… no other heros. Did that bug spread or what?
I just had the same bug in Battlegrounds. I won the fight vs another player and right after that got 2nd place while the player losing to me got the 3rd place.
I actually noticed something went wrong during the game. The one who ranked 1st in the end is George the Fallen. But when I looked at his record at some point, it says that he lost to The Lich King consecutively in his two recent games (both -11).

The player who won the first place without fighting used the hero George the Fallen. At some point of the game when I looking at this records. It says that he lost to The Lich King consecutively in his past two games. Clearly something went wrong.
Still happening 1/31/21, blizzard apparently doesn’t care enough to fix it.

I’ve started playing Battlegrounds again about 2 months ago. I have had an issue 3 times this week (occasionally prior) where I have won matches into 2nd place and was never able to compete in first. It’s as if these individuals have found a way to quit and remain in first place. I’m hoping it’s just a glitch and people aren’t intentionally exploiting the game.
