I reached legend back in 2019 before the reward track and never tried to get legend again. Just came back after the reward track update and it was specifically stated that you would get a free legendary card for hitting legendary the first time after the new reward track.
I did that and never got a free Legendary.
So we were lied to as far as getting a free Legendary card for hitting Legendary after the reward tracks? It just grandfathers you in so you don’t get the card and anyone else hitting it for the first time after the new rewards track gets it?
Support has now told me to post this bug here as they believe it is a bug. This is probably due to the new classic overhaul.

I’m not sure if that carried over to the Core Set overhaul.
Yah, this seems to be the problem. I think when they did the set overhaul it messed it up.

Here’s the context of that sentence:
“There are also brand-new first-time rewards. These one-time rewards of Classic card packs, Rare cards, and Epic cards will be granted immediately upon hitting a ranked floor for the first time on your account. Hitting Legend for the first time in the new ranked system will grant a random Classic Legendary card!”
The classic card packs, rare cards, and epic cards to be granted immediately upon hitting a ranked floor no longer exist. Since they have been replaced by the Climbing the Ranks achievements and their rewards, it makes sense that the earlier version has been discontinued.
The legendary is mentioned in the same sentence. I’d assume that this, too, has been replaced by the Climbing the Ranks achievements.
Support had no answer for me and they believe this is a bug and told me to post here (which I’ve already done)
Which means this is likely to go unnoticed and I’m likely never going to have a resolution. Great.
Same issue, support says thats how system work.
So no legen
They told me that as well because they thought I was asking for a second Legendary. Then I had to clarify further to tell them I’ve NEVER received a free Legendary for reaching Legend. They said go to the bug report forums…
…because, let’s be honest. They don’t care. This isn’t hurting gameplay and I’d be shocked if anyone reads this, or even cares enough to provide the actual support of responding with a response whether this is intentional or not while understanding the actual issue.

People read this.
However, those are QA staff (aka testers). They look for common patterns and game breaking bugs that they can relay to the developers for further investigation and to then get a fix so it won’t happen again. They rarely ask developers to fix issues that have already happened, unless it’s a real huge scale issue where developers need to write code to find all affected accounts.
For individual account issues, Customer Support is responsible for getting things fixed. They sometimes ask customers to raise an issue here to ensure that QA and devs know about it (because apparently they cannot contact their colleagues directly). And if they are lucky the customer thinks that they’ll get a solution here and stop bugging them, so they can mark the ticket as closed and pretend they have done a good job.
Same problem. I suspect your achievement is closed by the date of receipt the first legend in 2019. And yes. Something changed after the release of the last Expansion, when the classic set moved to the wild. Did you find a solution?
As you can see now the award is not a classic legendary card, but random recent expansion legendary card.
Never got a solution. I don’t think they care.

Clearly I’ve read your response since I made the remark “I don’t think they care”. It was made abundantly clear by the service ticket that they didn’t care.
You never mentioned that you went to support. To me it sounded like you were still expecting a spontaneous reply to your report here.

No problem. I wanted it to be clear so that other people don’t bother wasting their time with the support ticket as they don’t even remotely understand what I’m talking about and just wanted to dismiss me and lead me here where they know I wouldn’t get it resolved.
Same issue for me. Returned to play this month and hit Legend. I received no random Legendary card despite getting rewards and achievements for every other Rank progression.
The achievement is completed from when I hit Legend in 2017 ???
Can’t even open a ticket as the submit button doesn’t work. Seeing as the OP of this thread hasn’t resolved it I doubt it ever will. Blizzard in 2021
same here… achievement is set 2017…well its just a non gold legendary card right ?
