Should the basic Tyrael hero be acquired from the shop for free about 3 months ago?
My son had a similar issue with Vanndar today. His Vanndar is already nearly maxed and completed all 18 tasks. When opening new packs he got a Vanndar mercenary square card, not the oval portrait. NOT OK.

Vanndar was obtained from the quest during Alterac. Tyrael - from promotions in the store. In both cases, you received their golden portrait, but not the standard one.

Nope, itβs probably from the achievement of beating the Heroic Secret Cow (the golden portrait, that is, if the basic mercenary card was indeed missing. Or do you mean those who received a golden portrait from the shop instead due to a bug?).
