was playing a game, the enemy hero had 14 hp. He had a hallucinated Mothership out as his only minion, so I played a Briarspawn drake and brought the mothership down to 1 Hp, thinking that the double damage the hallucination takes would result in the enemy taking 23 damage (12*2 - 1), resulting into lethal damage. Instead the enemy only took 11 damage and killed me next turn. Is this a bug or just some wonky game mechanics that my stupid brain doesnt understand.

Briarspawn Drake dealt 12 damage to the Mothership, and 11 of that was excess.
The Drake doesn’t know or care that the enemy minion took more damage than that.
