So, am I remembering incorrectly? I thought when they did this for the previous expansion that you could use current content cards. I distinctly remember being able to play many of my regular decks without issue. Now, with this brawliseum when I try to play one of my current standard decks, almost all the cards are not allowed.
Is Blizzard really that greedy that they are forcing people to pre-purchase packs to have a chance in this brawliseum by arbitrarily limiting which sets can participate? And can anyone confirm that the last pre-expansion brawliseum was not this limited or scummy?
Really, no mini-sets? Please say this is a joke or a bug.

you get 2 free packs instead of 1 if you lose all 3 games
but somehow your gonna tell me that 2 packs is worse than 1
Lets be realistic here. If they allowed the mini set it would be the same meta we have had for almost 2 months. Nobody really wanted all of those same decks again. It’s still an egregious P2W brawl though. Nothing can change that.

They are not really greedy in this case as much as admitting the power of the previous sets would destroy the new cards in the brawl or at least they do not wish to risk that happening in a format that only lasts a week.
I will not. I said in another thread this brawl was easier and more rewarding than most in that you do not need to win and you get more packs.
My issue is that it is not worth the time to play again in this format.

In comparison to all the irl pre-release events i have personally attended in my life…this is the closest to that Blizz has come.
Its a special event for people who gave their money. Whats nice about it is us frugal players can join in not for the cost of a slight disadvantage…but from what i have seen on these very forums…even having the pre-release cards isnt mich of an advantage.
Be grateful for the extra packs. Its not often we get extra anything for free here.
The new DK/DH decks says otherwise. Multiple streamers have steamrolled 6-0 with the decks.
It doesn’t help that the year of the raptor event’s final quest is 30 games and it’s expedited by playing the now P2W pre-expansion brawl.
I dont watch other people play video games.
The max you’re going to get is 4 packs. Just run a jank deck for a guaranteed 2 packs and see how far you go. Investing in the new set will not guarantee you 4 packs.
