I don’t know exactly what Blizzard thinks is fun about having Braggart in the game but whatever their reasoning is, it’s straight up wrong.
They’ve already had issues in the past with a certain anomaly and Braggart to the point where they had to change the anomaly but they didn’t change the card. Well, he’s still a problem.
There’s no place in the game for a minion that can reach like 14,000 HP and Attack, or 56,000, or 80,000. It just doesn’t make sense to have such a dumb card in the game.
Every game that Braggart is in forces everyone into a single strategy otherwise you just lose, you have no chance. It just seems like such an obvious pain point that removing it from the game entirely wouldn’t hurt the game in any noticeable way, all it would do is not frustrate players when playing against it.
Never thought Braggart is that much issue. I always prefer 14k braggart than big foereaper with divine shield (and windfury) big enough to cleave most of my board before I get to do anything.
In the end, you can kill this one with scambuild - Murghouls, Leeroys, poisons etc and if your opponent has 14k HP on braggart it probably means he has huge minions and you are losing anyway without leeroys/poisons…
First, you’re not complaining about Braggarts, you’re complaining about golden Braggarts. Normal ones don’t do what you’re complaining about.
Second, a Golden Tier 7 unit IS ALLOWED to force you to play around it. It’s not that you’re wrong about what’s happening, it’s that you’re wrong about it being wrong.
The only Tier 7 unit that I consider overpowered is Captain Sanders. Which is probably the unseen cause of what you’re complaining about anyway.
Where are you at on ladder? I’ve been in the 7500-ish range for a while and the number of games where Braggart itself is the issue has been maybe 2, and both of those were darkmoon prize anomalies where people just played for that specific reward early. In the generic ‘tier 7 is in the game’ anomalies I’ve never seen a busted Braggart actually win the game.
Is this a huge problem at higher MMR?
I can pretty much guarantee that the OP’s MMR is under 5000. The only way you get a lot of games like that is if everyone else is also tunnel visioning on narrow builds.
I play around the 6500 range and never really come across Braggarts that are a huge issue to remove. Not quite sure what the issue is with them to be honest. Basic board removal like venom minions and Leeroy dispatch them easily.
Completely agree especially since it’s a friggin’ BC, which more often than not finds itself within a lobby where another unit can make it do it again and again.
Yeah Pirate Murloc lobbies are less than half of the lobbies but they are the ones where someone gets Murkeye+Sanders, and from that point Braggarts are kinda obnoxious.
But you’re not going to have powerful Braggarts unless you have Pirates or Naga (or a hero power that makes easy Golden minions), PLUS Murlocs or Dragons (or a hero power that repeats Battlecries), in the Tier 7 anomaly.
Normal Braggarts are kinda decent as an all-in to replace a scaler (e.g. Brann) or you can play them as you’re building towards Golden Braggart to prevent damage in a similar way, provided that you’re playing a trad scaling comp. But they’re not really amazing and feel a lot like scam units (Bramblewitch, Leeroy) when used this way, except that they usually don’t play well with Baron comps.
I wouldn’t say that normal Braggarts aren’t good most of the time, but they’re nothing amazing either.
Over 10k and you see Braggart a lot more, especially since people see how to do it from watching streamers on Twitch. So no, it isn’t under 5000. At that MMR Braggart isn’t an issue. He becomes an issue when you start seeing multiple golden Braggarts at 100k stats and higher.
Go practice.
