I find it rather hilarious how botters don’t even try to hide the fact that the accounts are bots…
Which captiviationg names like fighrwefiuhger and olijkjhoiurgwe, its a reminder that Blizzard has a serious bot problem and they clearly do not have a solution to deal with them.
I decided to play wild for a bit… and so many bots. The person or BOT, that I"m currently up against seems to only be able to hover over my portrait and my hero power and cant’ seem to be able to play a card. lol
I totally get where you’re coming from! It’s pretty wild to see those names like “fighrwefiuhger” and “olijkjhoiurgwe” and realize just how blatant the botting issue has become. It’s frustrating because it really takes away from the experience of playing the game. It’s hard to take a match seriously when you know you’re up against a bot with a name that looks like a keyboard smash.
I agree that Blizzard needs to step up their game in tackling this problem. It affects matchmaking and the overall enjoyment for players who are genuinely trying to climb the ranks. Hopefully, they can implement better detection systems and penalties for botting soon. Until then, it’s just a reminder of how important it is to keep the community healthy and engaging!
What do you think are some effective ways Blizzard could combat this issue?
There needs to be some type of verfication system put in place. I don’t know that would entail, however, it is very clear that what is currently happening is not working. Botting has been a massive issue for a very long time. Blizzard has largley kept very quiet on this topic and it’s because they don’t know how to fix it.
This one of the main reasons why I’ve stopped pre-orderring. There is no value in spending $$ on a game when all you end up facing are cheaters. Bots, regardless of their intent, are cheats no matter how you slice it.
Like right now I"M still in the very match where my opponenet is unable to play a sinlge cared but they are able to however over my portrait, the minons I’ve placed on the board, their portrait, their hero power. And I’m just ending turn cuz I know it’s a bot and I"m just watching their deck burn.
The integrity of this game is destroyed.
What is the point of these type of accounts? What do they accomplish?
They rank them up farm for rewards sell them to players with achievements and rewards already completed for them.
THere are plenty of websites that sell Hearthstone accounts like this.
So let me get this straight people buy accounts that have rewards and ranks that they didn’t even deserve / get themselves? What the hell kind of person even does that?? what is the point???
Are you really that naive about bots? How long have you been playing this game?
Once upon a time players were able get 100 gold after a certain amoun to wins, I think it was 3 or 5, I can’t recall how many, However, because of that bots that farmed and just collected a ton of gold on an account, Blizzard put a cap on how much gold players were able to get per day.
I mean look at diablo 2 and 3. THe auction house, people used bots to farm items and then sell them for real money until Blizzard finally closed down the auciton hosue. There’s money to be made in the gaming world when you have someone who’s willing to pay to gain an unfair advantage.
These days, most bot accounts are used to farm gold to be sold for or used in Arena as “barcode accounts,” which are treated as temporary, disposable accounts—which is why most of them they don’t bother trying to hide what they are doing with less obvious names.
What if when you press the button to find the match and the roulette wheel appears, instead of just having the button to cancel the queue and when the match starts automatically, when you find the match the ‘‘cancel’’ button becomes the ‘’ button accept’', so the bot would have to accept the match as soon as it is found and if it clicks before it will cancel the queue, what do you think? I don’t really understand how bots work, but in my head it would solve, at least a large part.
sometimes it is cheaper to buy an account with several cards than to buy packs for your own account, in some countries hearthstone is absurdly expensive.
Exactly, and there are tons of websites that sell accounts.

Oof at least you’re not a malicious account. It was VERY obvious to me. a) Reiteration of the question almost verbatim b) extremely polite to the point of being weird c) ending with a weird excitement of the type “isn’t Hearthstone so wonderful!?” or whatever.
Cheaters there are a lot of mana and spells for 0 mana.
As for bots, there are none. Where do you play, I want to play with bots Blizzard put me on a bot server.
If you repeatedly say bots n bots n bots n bots it’ll sound like you’re beatboxing.
I made a post yesterday that has been removed saying that a gm told myself and my wife that they can’t handle the hackers and bots
Also that hackers from certain countries are untouchable from banning
I got the usual trolls asking for proof

If this was 10 years ago I’d roll my eyes at my post as well
But it’s now and we see bots and hackers riddled on everything
I used to say that the devs don’t care about bots
But now it seems they can’t stop them
The funny part about barcode accounts is that they can be beaten in Arena much easier now. The pool of cards available is so curated now that i can legitimately draft a deck that looks like a barcode deck 75% of the time.
What do you mean (is there a source of that?)? It’s probably because I’m a total arena noob but that format is so obnoxious at the level of selection; half of the time I don’t even get a single Legendary in the selection; half of the time I get only obscure-synergy cards that I’m forced to drop leaving me only with duds (making me wonder “I should have probably gotten the obscure-synergy cards in the off chance I get obscenely lucky with the other selection but that might make it even worse but I don’t know really” making it even more confusing and annoying.
The entire Format is better of replaced; make it semi-random instead of totally random at the selection process; e.g. let us select a random COLLECTION of 15 synergy cards and then make the other 15 cards a random selection of singulars or something else saner like that.
