I would of sworn they would of been considered spells but apparently that’s inaccurate. I played Magatha in a duels match. Would of been a perfect play but first 4 drawn were bombs that were not given to my opponent. Also didn’t count as a draw card which lead to me pulling 3 more to end the match. I was hoping they would but seeing this I take it the shards from the DH and plagues from the DK would also be something other then spells since they too do not count as a drawn card(s). IS there a tag they would have such that of spells and minions?
Casts when drawn, while they are spells, they are cast when drawn
You know I never thought of that interaction in much depth before. When we play the DH card which makes the next few spells cast when drawn then play Magatha, spells drawn will not be given to the opponent.
I also think this interaction shouldn’t be resolved the way it is, but it’s how it works currently.
Effects like Magatha are rare enough to be a cool way to counter plagues and such, so I don’t understand why they would be treated as an extra liability against these decks.
When a ‘cast when drawn’ spell is drawn, they count as a ‘draw’ and a ‘spell’ but because the spell effect takes place immediately on being drawn, whatever effect triggered the draw continues (start of turn you just draw another card, etc.).
If an effect says to ‘draw X spells’, because the cast when drawn spell IS a spell, it counts toward that threshold but you will draw until you’ve put X cards in your hand (if your deck has that many left).
In the case of Magatha you can’t give that spell to your opponent because it is cast the moment it is drawn.
Example: you have 3 bombs in your deck, and only one other ‘spell’ card. If an effect says to draw 3 spells, you will draw all three bombs, the remaining spell in your deck, and two other cards (or fatigue twice if your deck is otherwise empty).
Note that an effect like Finley or Secret Passage (which ‘swap’ or ‘replace’ but don’t draw) do not trigger these types of spells to cast. So you can end up with 4 bombs or plagues in your hand after a Secret Passage.
It’s blizzard were talking about.
They did take literally 10 months to fix lightshow.
Something that sincerely…
Would be enough to even justify compensation for who did buy festival of legends deals.
If you think that we had 2 entire metagames with a card that wasn’t even working properly by blizzard own standards. If it was there would be no need to “fix”.
I not saying that i’m personally demmand it or anything. Just that the argument that many players were frustrated by a card that just wasn’t working properly is a very good one for that.
Even more if you think it changed an entire metagame due to what blizzard called by itself a “bug”.
They should change the order mechanics resolve though. I am stuck in diamond standard atm because… well first off, I don’t copy decks (I love making my own) and second, I am having trouble counteracting the plague cards. I love the “Destroy all cards that didn’t start…” cards and use both, but that doesn’t work well AT ALL for the barrels of smudge. we need a counteract card for the massively stacked decks of created spells. Imagine if the barrel of smudge casted for the current turn? then we used the destroy and they casted for them instead? that’s something to make people think twice. Also, move the minion that destroys your opponents armor into standard. Ok, just being funny for that one. Armor warrior gets rough if the game goes past 8 rounds though.
“Draw 5 cards. Give any spells drawn to your opponent.”
This does NOT say anything about not drawing the spells. You still draw the spells, so it does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING against bombs. Then you give any spells you draw to your opponent, if they haven’t exploded yet; the separate sentences mean draw first, give second. The “perfect play” you were thinking about doesn’t exist and never existed. It isn’t bugged.
