Is anyone else only seeing tier 1, 2 and 3 throughout the whole game? Very rarely do I ever see top tier cards unless I’ve got a triple reward.
I don’t understand it. I’ve tried leveling tiers slower, I’ve tried leveling up super fast. I’ll be stuck down in place 7 and 8 while I’m facing opponents with several triples and tier 5 and 6 cards. What am I doing wrong?

Well no, I hit tier 5 in 90% of my games. If you don’t even hit tier 4 you must do something wrong. Only way to tell is to see how you play because going tier 4 is the lowest tier to hit to be able to win or go top 4.
The “main” way to up tier is :
- Turn 1, buy
- Turn 2, up
- Turn 3, 4 buy
- Turn 5, buy and up or vice versa if you have a token to sell
And from this point it depends of what you wanna do and if you are struggling or not. Most of the time people up to tier 4 on turn 7, but If I’m behind or if I’m looking for some cards on the lower tier I usually stay at tier 3 2/3 turns more. Then I stay a long time at tier 4, all good minions are there, and if you want something from tier 5 you usually just wait for a triple. Usually I go tier 5 when the up cost is around 3 to 5 golds.
But once again, it’s just the most common way to do it. Don’t focus on tiering up fast or slow, don’t focus on triple, just focus on the state of your board each turn. Are you strong enough to tier up, are you ready to loose some HP to do so ? It also depends on which hero you have and if you are ahead or not. The path to tier 3 is almost always the same, after it’s how you feel it.

No, I mean when I am tier 5 and 6 the only cards being shown to me in BoB’s Tavern are tier 1 through 3. I’m not being allowed to choose from tier 4 through tier 6.

Well, when you get a triple, you get a card from the next tier up. So I think I’ve figured out where those guys got the higher tier cards.
Even at T6, you’re somewhat unlikely to get 6 star units in the tavern. The best solution is to try and pair up when you get to T4 (depending on the power units for your build). There are few high tier units in the pool, and fishing for the good ones with Triples at T4 or T5 is going to be faster than rolling a bunch at T6. That’s the meta, that’s what people are trying to do.
You should get one tier 4 or tier 5 minion on average, it’s a bit more rare to get tier 6. If you really never see them there’s something wrong.

There are a limited amount of those minions so if others grab them first you are out of luck. There are ways to guarantee seeing tier 5 and 6 minions such as Toki and Elise.
I have the same problem as you, i rarely see the higher tier minions, being T5 or T6 only getting T1 to T3 minions.
So I usually stay on T4 and fix my board, i let the other people go T5 or T6, I usually end Top 4 anyway.

There are very few T5/T6 minions, so your opponents might cleared out the pool. The reason why a triple seems to have a better chance for T5/T6 minions is because it doesn’t take cards from the shared pool.
Note: your opponent doesn’t have to “purchase” these OP cards to deny your use, all they need to do is just freeze the board and you will never see those cards.
Upgraded to a tavern tier doesn’t guarantee you’ll see minions from that tier being offered. That’s why triples are quite important, because they guarantee you get a minion from a tier up. Especially when playing the triple @ tavern tier 4 as tier 5 is where many of the really good snowball minions are (Brann, Lightfang, didn’t play since last update but I hear the new Murloc guy is pretty good…).
Also, the triple will award you a minion from a tier above the tavern tier you have reached, regardless of the tripled minion’s tier.
Therefore:
- it can be beneficial to delay your tavern upgrades if you already have a double, to increase your odds of finding the third copy.
- once the third copy is found, it’s often worth it to not buy it at once if you aren’t tier 4 yet, and instead Freeze and upgrade until you reach t4 to make the triple
The key here being to be able to balance the risk you take by delaying/buying upgrades two turns in a row.
Two of you have said this. Now I understand better. Thank you!!Yeah I’m sorry but I’m convinced Acti-Blizzard is playing favorites with RNG. I have taken every ounce of advice that has been given me and have applied it to come up with losing taverns time and time again.
I’m disgusted. While everyone else has tier 4, 5 and 6 I am stuck with tier 2. If it only happened on occasion I might think I’m doing something wrong but I’m not. Activision is being a-holes.
I guess good luck on your next game because nobody continues to play a game they think is rigged.

I try to watch when everyone else ranks up. Usually the people in the top 4 will be safer to rank up early while the bottom 4 should try to stabilize.
Don’t get stuck on one strategy. Sometimes you will not be offered minions from the same tribe.
If you don’t think you can get top 4 then it might be worth taking some risks.
I know you really want people to see your comment as profound.
LOL. So cute.
Dude it’s a free mode that requires no pay in from the player…why rig it? It amazes me. Even when they have no financial incentive to rig a mode people still whine and make excuses. Ridiculous.

Well, instead of being condescending, you could explain, why you play a game, you believe is “rigged.”
Sometimes you hit a bad luck streak and don’t get offered anything worthwhile for a few games and get paired against Yogg, Rafaam, and AFK back to back to back, but if you’re losing all the time than you’re definitely misplaying somewhere.
tier 6 has been one of the easiest to get for me somehow, every other roll abouts.
Sometimes you have 3-4 games in a row where you get horrible minions with every roll, 5 times tier 1 at tavern 5 etc,it feels as if the game wants you to lose.
Its kinda annoying and has put me off from playing battlegrounds.
Rigged or not,the feeling that its rigged is horrible and not enticing to make you play.
Same with combat rng, getting the worst target from the divine shield giver (a 1/1) while having a full board and that 3 turns in a row lol,you already know that 9 out of 10 rng events in the next 2 matches will be equally bad. then its like:nvm this I go do something else.
Its part of the game and all natural I guess, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. It becomes a grind, playing 100,s of games to let the rng “even out”.
But the thing with rng is,it doesn’t even out on the contrary. (which can me proven mathematically very easily).
The more games you play the further away you will get from the median (both on the positive and negative side). Its why all gamblers go broke in the long run even with a 50% game like tossing a dice, its a mathematical certainty.

Yep!
I just played the stupid robot that lowers the cost of tiers by 1. I went straight up to tier 5. I never saw things above 1-2 tiers below my tier so I wasted my game. The picks started to turn around when I had 7 hp left and others were tiering up. By then I was screwed.
Gratz! You just made the stupidest post of 2019!! Well done sir!
