it used to be you didnt even need a legendary card to build a deck. now if you want to compete the average teir 1 deck after titans will have 5+ legendries. probably closer to 7 legendries on average. titans are so good they will be in every single deck.
Rember when they gave us the key cards to play galakrond and everyone got a chance to have fun? Ya, that was a good decision.
Good ol’ Galakrond and C’Thun cards. That said Blizz does give us legendaries with every new set. I wouldn’t mind seeing another C’Thun kind of neutral where every class can build their own varaint
The only time the game didn’t have must have legendaries to make tier 1 decks was back in Classic when the game first came out where nobody had any cards. As soon as decks were refined they had at least 1 legendary. Back in the day that Legendary was Leeroy for most decks. It’s pretty much always been this way. There really wasn’t a time where tier 1 decks didn’t have legendaries in them after that initial new game period wore off.
The OP isn’t wrong in that Legendaries have become more important with every passing year.
This expansion ensures that continues.
is as if people forget every single expansion there are legendaries without competitive play
And there have also been essential legendaries every expansion as well.
This is why i feel there should a cap on the number of legendaries in a deck. If it were me I’d go further, make it 1 max of Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Really makes you think and craft creatively with those restrictions instead of just gold/purp/blue spam. Maybe One month Twist will do that tho.
completely expected to happen
thats maybe a good idea for a twist rule or a tavern brawl terrbile diea on any other mode
I cant even build a single deck for any bracket for standard without needing to make at least 3 to 5 legendaries, epics, and rares, so about 9 to 15 cards are needed to craft to make any of the decks on hsreplays for any given brackets (Gold and up, i dont think they have bronze or silver bracket on there that I;ve been able to find). Outside the rewards tracks and minisets it is very hard to make a viable deck to get above bronze 5 each month. And even that is a lot of games to reach for me.
I’d say its not a terrible idea unless your deck has a majority of rares and above in it.
is a terrible idea
would prevent players from running tech cards
and kills all archetypes
it even kills meme decks because of this , is one of the most anti fun suggestion ive seen
Honestly legendaries are not an issue. Decks needing legendaries is not an issue. Boss monsters exist in YGO, legendaries exist in MTG, Legends of Runeterra has their own analogue, literally every card game.
I’m failing to see what the complaint is. Is it that you need too many legendary cards?
I think the complaint lies in the crafting cost. (I’m guessing)
Im fine with the cost of crafting as it is, what Im not fine with is the sheer number of legendaries epics and rares needed to make any deck nowadays. On average Im able to get maybe 2 legendaries per expansion usually due to miniset + prize track. Might be able to earn enough gold after buying miniset to afford 3 to 5 boosters before its time to do it all over again. Doesnt matter the mode, Standard, Wild, Duels, Twisted, they all seem to need so many of the rare and highers.
Bringing that down by a hard limit wouldnt destroy anything but the whales decks.
So you’re mad over the amount of every non-common?
Buddy I don’t think anyone can help you. If you can ONLY craft 2 legendaries per prize track I think you are crafting a lot of things you don’t need to craft because you should EASILY be able to craft more than that. I am sitting on several thousand dust AFTER crafting everything I need
So you want the game to play like the last Dual Class Arena with the crap card pool. Having nothing but vanilla with not even french vanilla options does not make decks more creative. It just makes them boring.
That cant be right, there are 3 free legendaries on the reward track, the miniset, if you buy it, has 4 legendaries in it. You are guarenteed to get 1 legendary in your first 10 packs.
Not to mention Rare cards should not be a problem, you normally get every single one within 50 packs.
You would ruin a lot of bad meme decks that way, and ruin the fun for every meme deck player who doesn’t take the game seriously.
I usually have enough gold saved up by the beginning of each expansion to buy 70 or 80 packs from the new expansion and normally get roughly three to five legendaries from those packs alone. I don’t really buy the minisets, I just craft cards I need from the miniset as I need them. If I have to, I’ll go through my collection and dust legendaries and epics that don’t see play anymore.
I play wild, so less cards from each set manage to break into the meta, which makes it much cheaper to keep up. And I don’t want to be able to play every deck, just the decks I enjoy playing.
I haven’t spent money on the game in so long, I can’t remember when the last time I spent money on it was.
