For those that don’t wanna open the tweet here’s some highlights:
Diablo and Cairne are in all 6 lists
Dawngrasp is in 5 of the 6 lists
Lich King is in 3 of the lists
Voljin, Tavish, Samuro, and Xyrella are each in 2 of the lists
The most unique list in there runs a beast package with Rexxar, King Krush, and King Mukla
Ragnaros and Baron Geddon both are there once but not in the same list
Anduin made one of the lists but not with any humans or Velen
Interesting numbers. Things are still taking shape but it’s hard to argue with the success of diablo, cairne, and varden

Thanks for this. I am waiting for HSReplay to release their Mercenaries website. In the meantime, I’m not sure where to look for comps. This helps. Although, I don’t know if I have the right mercenaries. I’ll have to check and see.

You probably have samuro, xyrella, and dawngrasp so that’s a decent starting point. The cheapest 2 lists run those 3 plus cairne, diablo, and either Anduin or Sylvannas.
I managed to draw Diablo last night from a pack!

Then you just need cairne and either anduin or sylvannas to have one of the full teams
Have you tried looking at https://outof.cards/hearthstone/mercenaries/

Dawngrasp without Jaina? Sure, I haven’t played Mercenaries much, but I found Dawngrasp to be pretty lacking without Jaina’s Frost Damage+ and Water Elementals (with them though, I could definitely see Dawngrasp being top-tier).
They’re used almost exclusively for Flurry. Slowing down the entire enemy team is a huge deal and gives the rest of your team a big advantage. It means your xyrella + samuro can go first, it means your diablo gets a lot of damage off fire stomp and it lets you pick a priority target to kill before they can use its abilities.

What about Bru’kan? With his upgrading lightning rod, I swap him in whenever one of Cariel, Xyrella, or Samuro dies, and he does massive damage, even killing an entire red boss in PvE.
As expected, speed and speed disruption is king.
Nothing else matters if they get initiative and kill you before you can act.
They’ll have to introduce some kind of stamina mechanic to balance out the advantage of speed eventually I think. Like speed inverse to stamina spent, so fast skills deplete your stamina faster. Something along those lines.

ambush mechanic in my mind,
basically you need to guess which character will die.
instead of moving with that character, you choose one in the bench to do a move and replace it after the dead of that mercenaries.
the backdraw is, other side team can avoid that mercenaries and aim for other mercenaries which force you to do nothing with that mercenaries.
it’s basically mind game and can be countered and both side have option to do something instead of 1 way speed oppression.
the advantage of speed is you can do something and opponent do nothing because they wasted a turn on dead character.
anduin is the boss of low level mercenaries.
he is that guy who can 1 vs 3 on low level match up between mercenaries with lack of upgrade.
imagine dealing 6 damage VS anduin deal 12 and heal for 12. (i forgot the number for penance level 3)
And it has begun
“The forums said I was to short”
can someone explain how dawngrasp is good?
They’re more likely to add mercenaries like Tavish who get some sort of bonus from going last.
Speed control. They deal good poke damage every turn while making sure you almost always have speed initiative.
Apparently his speed slowing on the entire enemy team is really good. I don’t really know about the speed-slowing meta; I mostly play PvE, where hitting hard is generally more important than slowing the enemy down.
It’s important to put these characters in some context as well. It’s not just comp but also you have to 100% grind out these characters to the max power level. Just one item missing can be the difference between S tier and dumpster.
