I think the guy was just telling the truth but he could have been nicer.

I think people shouldn’t be so sensitive. Would solve a lot of problems in this world if ‘we’ weren’t.

Dude, I’ve had literal death threats leveraged against me that are still up and visible, right now as of 11-16-24. And sexual harassment to boot, also still visible.

Now I’ll grant you, the point you make still stands and I also understand this shouldn’t be a “one upsmanship contest.” At the same time, there does come a point where comments like this one start having contextual merit:

I agree. Seen that guy before, pretty unpleasant.

Lol, Fuzzypanda calling people idiots.

The irony is palpable.

I thought I remembered Fuzzy-Wuzzy being a nice fella, but my latest interaction suggests otherwise. Maybe he’s got the Hearthstone forum mind virus (symptoms include unnecessary, consistent, and perpetual hostility, condescension, contrariness, and snarkiness).

Sorry if your feelings were hurt. Don’t let people here bring you down. I understand some of us come here because we, in a sense, love Hearthstone, and want to have pleasant conversations about it. Alas, many of us come here to be like that.

Edit: I caution you that this thread may violate CoC by essentially naming names.

So you’re sitting at a cafe in your local town and enjoying your coffee, and a completely unknown person comes up and shouts into your ear: “YOU’RE TOO STUPID!!1111111”.

Do you seriously think at that point “I shouldn’t be that sensitive”? Because if you do you’re just technical wrong even from an ethical standpoint.

Aokighara, you took a bullet to ensure that person’s comment was removed as well.

If you end up getting a vacation, know that I will remember you.

I don’t like their presentation, but they weren’t wrong.

You can share media here, everyone can.

They even linked how to do it.

You are the one who went on a tirade attacking them despite the fact that you were wrong.

If you choose to put yourself in a position to help someone understand, you forfeit the right to impatience.

You should commit to explaining until even a monkey could understand it, else, you shouldn’t have attempted to explain it in the first place, ya know?

I’d agree with this if we were in proper academic setting here.

But this ain’t it. This is a place where paranoid conspiracy theorists believe someone/thing at Blizzard HQ literally micromanages their specific profile to very intentionally mess with their particular individual win rate, in order to appease whales and keep sheeple complacent. There is no “teaching” that will correct that but I tend to give it one solid attempt regardless.

Because you never know - they might not be trolling. They might just be naive or confused. I think it’s worth one chance just in case. But, you know, “fool me once…”

Well, in this case, it’s a case of two trolls going against each other and not being aware of how to coexist with their own kind.

As an instigator, I chimed in to bump the thread. But honestly, both of them deserve a little vacation, so I’m not too invested in the outcome.

So yes, my point doesn’t apply to this situation, but that wasn’t my intention. My intention was for an actual human being to be reminded of the virtue of patience when dealing with others, so they can remain humble. Personally, if Fuzzypanda were a normal person, I’d advise ignoring Aokighara’s threads altogether. The same goes for the other side, as both are either trolling too hard or in need of help.

And it took you so long to realise it?

It’s a video gaming forum. Some posters are literally small children, so all the more reason to be more sensitive.

Sure some people are adults who are drunk on gaming forums, so it’s generally messy.

apart from the fact that I hate being shouted at, I seriously do not care one little bit what they say to me as I don’t know the person so they can’t ‘hurt’ me.

Blizzard is part of everything when it comes to their games, except balance and good development, that’s usually the players fault…

Managing sensitivity in a place like this is necessary as it’s virtually unmoderated. If we had moderation, but we don’t, and so our only defense is to be emotionally resilient. Nevertheless, some of us have moments (likely rooted offline) where something (like pointed out here) breaks the camel’s back, and we make a thread like this. This thread is really only exposing the obvious (unnecessary hostility (even when explaining something like attaching media )), and I think for many here they don’t want to be called out for poor behavior. Hence, the many defenses of such uncalled for rudeness.

Moderation or not, that was a Jack hole type way to explain anything. There’s no excuse. The advice, however, is sound: “stiffen that upper lip”. And also (my advice) “screw them”.

I grew up as a “PKer” in RuneScape, starting in like 2003. Nothing here comes close to the wild west nature of that world. Remember, we’re not all from that, guys.

Next time feel free to shoot me a message personally if something like this is bothering you.

Much love.

Oh, by the way…

There’s no ‘virus’, it’s more of a selection: those who post normally tend to get blocked (!) or just leave these hopeless forums. What remains, apart from essentially bypassers, is either a bunch of those pathetic resident trolls or a few people who just don’t care about the bulk of it (writing exercises, remember? :grinning: ).
