BGs Highrolling is getting old and boring

I’m completely bored with BGs now, the high-rolling of the mode is beyond boring. Either you get the highroll and win or you lose to them. I’m taking a break for a but since the mode is just horrible and Blizzard is fine with this mess of a mode.

It depends, you can still work it out.

I got third place (almost 2nd, but terrible attack order) with murlocs against much stronger opponents simply by playing it smart.

And I got real lowroll - from 2 tripples on 4 I got pretty much absolute trash (I had to take 0/8 and the one buffed from spells, but no beasts, no mechs, no pirates, so no spell generations, but needed to take it just to survive). If I got bran on 8-9 gold (my 2 tripples) I might have won it all.

Even after going to T5 (when playing against dead) I could not find single key piece for my build - no bran, no discovers, nothing. I literally had to golden the murloc who gives poison. As well I did not find until final round the deathrattle to summon murloc, so I had to keep on board only 6 minions to spawn.

So yeah, for victory you need highroll, but to get decent results you need to play it smart.

I understand where you’re coming from and sure you can hit a top 4 position if as you said you play smart. But that completely removes trying new builds or playing around and testing things. When you know that if you do that you are going to lose big and quick. So ultimately they have removed the creative and exploring nature of the game completely.

I just don’t find it fun to always play for second if you don’t play by the high-roll meta.

But cheers to you for finding the silver lining . . . happy gaming.

The gap between the best turn and the worst turn is too large. You can find a buddy and scale into infinite gold turns really early with good spells while your opponents are buying minions on curve and hoping to level into something useful.

The mode needs a significant balance pass right now to smooth that variance out.
