No comeback possible. Half of the lobby runs away through better trinket rng
8th place playing in a non greedy way should get compensation in situations. Like an ice block or a card that makes an opponent of their choice go afk for a round or sth
You just need to learn to play better. This is 100% about you making poor decisions in the game.
I have literally lost every round by small amounts waiting on my ācopy greater trinketā to pay off and then came back to win because I used the result to buy a whole new board that flattened all the meta stat stacker builds, so I have to agree with Neon here.
There is always will be the meta lovers. Cool, why if you are saying that people are making poor decisions, teach then ? Post 10 games in a row of playing battlegrounds and show you āamazingā decisions. This meta sucks hard. Love trinkets to never return
Thereās a pile of resources out there that are better at this game than me and I would encourage anyone who cares to go watch them.
Itās actually really interesting and full of ways to express skill and be creative, which is likely what you donāt like.
Maybe the next set will be more linear so you can have more fun building tall comps of homogenous units.
Why? Thereās plenty of Streamers out there that you can watch play 10 games and they do just fine. They donāt always finish first and they make good sound decisions that anyone watching can learn from. You can certainly become a better BG player watching streamers over becoming a better standard player watching streamers.
Iām not āexpertā levels good - my MMR is ~4.7k. But prior to that I was floundering in the 1-2kās and was struggling to progress. Now I routinely finish top 4 and I feel like Iām mostly held back by lack of play time (I only seriously dive into this game on weekends). 3 tips that helped me out:
- Pick a hero with HIGH armor (but NOT Patchwerk because he functionally has NO hero power). This lets you make more mistakes without dropping down to <= 15 health as quickly. Typically, the heroes with high armor have āworse / blanderā hero powers, but that just means you get to learn how to establish a good board WITHOUT relying on powers as a crutch.
- Build a board, not a trinket. Eventually youāll want to commit to a strategy that scales, and tribes tend to synergize with each otherā¦ but do NOT fall into the trap of going āIām going to try to go mech straight from turn 1 just because I might get Ancestral trinket!ā Or ditto for the other tribal trinkets. You may not get anything useful at all, or you may get the mech one when youāre already leaning hard into elementals.
- Donāt lean hard into elementals.
Okay, fine, a REAL third tip then (though thatās still sound advice up there): chip damage is more dangerous than you think. How many times have you lost a game where your opponent did EXACT damage, or maybe 2 or 3 points overkill? Now imagine if you had taken 4 less damage on turn TWO because you were rushing TIER 2 instead of establishing a better board, you would still be in this game.
Thatās literally a high roll. Also it doesnāt answer on the situation that is often too late, because the power creep of the meta can lead to 15 points of damage even before the 2nd trinket.
nah there are rounds you simply cant win. then you try to opt for top 4 to avoid losing too much. even the big guys cant beat rng some times.
having a mid tier champ and a bad first trinket plus bad rng in draw and attack patterns is nothing you can overcome that easy. dont make it sound that way.
well as long as there isnt any mechanism implemented Iāll just report highrollers for cheating / botting
You donāt focus on the other players in the early round because youāre too busy making whatever you can get to get to top fourā¦ you donāt decide to play for survivability and minimizing early damage after you take 10-15 damage on back to back turns.
This hapens less than one in thirty games, donāt make it sound like itās all the time. If itās more than that, itās most assuredly you are doing it wrong.
Awesome. Way to be a good sport.
duh. thanks for stating already mentioned stuff
good sport for having good rng? should i add them and type: ācongratz on getting lucky this gameā or what?
I think this game by top BG player jeef is very educational. He doesnāt really highroll much of anything (arguably some decent early tempo but nothing permanent), heās going against opponents who get huge boards, and he still competes.
I was so happy when they decided to revert their stance from last season about removing scam from the game. Having the ability to pivot to scam in a game is an important part of BGās and teaches players playing big stats not to get overly confident.
Speaking on the Video. Kangor + Cultist is so much fun to watch. I really like a meta with various Amalgams. You can do so much creatively with them.
Wait, what?
You guys love to say about how out decions are bad but dont do nothing to show.
I am talking about you meta lovers. You kust hrlp nothing saying every thing is fine and the blame is our for being bad.
New and inexperienced players absolutely make bad decisions playing BGās. Do you think the first time i played BGās i immediately went to 14K Rating? I had to play 100ās of games before i even got to 8K in a season and i can tell you that wasnāt my first season playing BGās. That was even before they added the damage cap. Imagine playing in a BG and you make a mistake on turn 4 and 5 and you are out that quick.
I like this meta but i am NOT shy about saying that Anomalies was the absolute worst meta in BGās and i had zero fun playing it. In fact itās the season i played the least amount of BGās by quite a bit. Buddies is probably my second least favorite because hero selection is far too important to how a lobby plays out. This current meta is nowhere near as bad as those two IMO.
Do you have me on ignore? I wrote an entire post responding directly to you, directly about what you just complained about for the second time here. There were 3 tips, plus a bonus one.
I agree with you on all of these. Anomalies were dog poop, buddies a close second.
Thereās lots of subtle things going on this season that many people are sleeping on.
