Shockspitter nerfed so it won’t be as popular was the worst match up. DH the same. It’s still waaaaay strong my dudes. Beast Hunter might be the only deck to check it.
Nope, we’re headed to the same meta we were 2 expansions ago where Curse Warlock reigns supreme.
As soon as the completely busted decks are nerfed, Curse Warlock climbs right back to the top. This is because the deck has somehow escaped nerfs and flies just below the radar of catching a nerf. It’s strong enough to be the #1 deck in any meta that looks at extending turns to a normal average. It struggles in a meta where broken decks quicken the average turns per game. Now that we’re about back to average, Curse Warlock is on top and there it will sit, once again, as it has for the last 2 expansions.
And unless the next expansion brings forth more busted decks or hard counters to Curse Warlock, it will continue to do so for the next year.
You mean curse implock, right?
People keep talking about that deck, yet I’ve only seen it once since the last patch I and destroyed the guy using it.
The meta in high legend is all high aggro. Thief rogue is way to slow to go against curse warlock, pure paladin, aggro mage. These decks win by turn 5
Yes. I don’t think a pure “Curse Warlock” exists, so I just say Curse Warlock instead of “Curse Imp Warlock” and Imp Warlock to refer to the version without Curse.
As you move up the bracket, it gets more common. The non-curse version performs better at lower ranks so you might see that one more often. But Diamond into Legend and now at top legend it is clear that Curse version is better and more frequent.
If you don’t see it a lot now, you will as you progress.
Also, it’s an old deck so people might be reluctant to go back to it. But stats don’t lie - if you want to win, you use Curse Warlock.
I just looked at hs replay, not a single warlock deck after patch on the first page. In fact, it’s mostly hunter.
Diamond-Legend. I stand corrected, looking at old data.
You aren’t looking at the data correctly.
You know how I know?
Edit; I see your edit now. But I’ll keep this for others to see.
I don’t have HS replay or any of those tools so it takes me a while to adjust to metas after the large changes that we see now.
That said, funny story, I faced Zach0 from VS ~800 legend earlier this week, I was playing a modified thief rogue, and he played DH. I handed his a$$ to him lol. I don’t know why DH’s don’t run quest anymore, the nerf is not that strong, it should still be a good deck in this reprobate meta.
Soo, the only deck in T1 from this expansion is pure paladin? Also VS reports that big-spell-mage is more popular at top1000 than aggro mage.
Thief Rogue makes the most out of Blizz’s rigged algos, so yea… it’s top tier.
Thief rogue is a tier 3 deck lmao
Meh. Just give it a few more months and the devs will realize Curse Imp Warlock is a problem. They have an eye for this kinda stuff.
Doubtful. It’s already been 8 months man.
Yep you’re right haha. At least its literally all I’m seeing. That, paladin, and gasp shockspitter still lives.
Yeah Curse warlock is Back, and I’m actually loving it.
I mostly enjoy warlock and priest, but man I’m so tired of playing curse imp in all it’s iterations. Because literally nothing has changed. You can do ren curse and zola a brann, the normal curse imp, zoo is still strong probably. Bless priest is the same. And it’s impossible to play ren or undead priest with warlock every other match. This last year of meta has been kind of doo doo. I’d love an actual control warrior deck.
Yes I’m a blue/black mtg chad.
It makes sense if one has burnt themselves out of the deck. I also enjoy priest and warlock, however, I’m currently burnt out of priest. So I can certainly see where you are coming from. I also enjoy warrior, but I don’t like the current Tech warrior, it’s pretty boring.
Well curse implock has a very good counter in quest warlock. When imp curse was top dog i won a lot of games against them with that deck.
You put injailer and might have a shoot against slower decks too.
