Best Metas of HS History?

I actually think the best meta was after the first round of Galakrond Shaman nerfs
EDIT: Note, I’ve only been playing since launch of Boomsday so my opinion is naturally a bit skewed
I feel that most classes had a valid deck at that point
Gala/Dr Rogue was good
pirate/gala warrior was good
Pally had mech pally, and pure pally teetering between tier 2 and 3
Priest still had combo as well as quest/rez
hunter had highlander and face
Galakrond had both zoo and hand gala shaman
Druid had Token in tier 1 and embiggen on the edge of tier 2
Mage had highlander
and Gala Shaman didn’t suck - still tier 2, with Quest-Gala in tier 3

Sure, the classes weren’t perfectly balanced, but I feel every class had a chance to compete.

Dr boom mad genius with Armaghedilo and funky tied with cthun and elise starseeker meta

Nope. The best meta hands down was Un’Goro launch. Every class had multiple tier 1 or 2 decks. Everything was viable.

I didn’t enjoy ungoro that was the release of most op card

I’d give a shoutout to Old Gods, as well.

Pre nerf MSoG. you had strong kazakus control and aggro warrior

I started playing early November 2019 with BGs release and I think post Galakrond’s Awakening and before HoF was among the better times to play HS. You had Combo Priest still in the game and Leeroy, all classes had a viable Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 deck and even though Rogue was over-represented, the deck was fair for the most part and it’s WR was about 52% so nothing oppressive. We didn’t really have super aggro outside Dragon Hunter and that could be beat as it didn’t have card draw.

There was less RNG, no Bamboozle/Evolve shenanigans, there weren’t Prince Keleseth shenanigans in Warlock (Scrap Imp) and the meta wasn’t as polarazing as it is now (DH and Warrior have 1 counter deck in the game - amazing game balance).

On a side point, remember when BGs were fun when JunkBot was Tier 4 and Lightforged was +2/+2 and we has Nightmare Amalgam. Man I’d go back to BGs if we can recreate the November meta.

Probably un’goro pre quest rogue nerf.

It was diverse and almost every class had it’s chance with most classes having atleast 2 decks to play with.

Yeah. For some reason I have enjoyed the game the most while ungoro expasion was on.

Maybe it wasnt best meta but I definitely had most fun then.

Warlock wasn’t viable then.

I had a lot of fun with Frozen Throne meta.

Honestly, I really enjoyed the meta in Saviors of Uldum post-nerfs and before the Doom in the Tomb event. All classes were viable and there wasn’t any true degenerate deck. The mentioned event, however, turned the meta into one of the most horrible experiences ever.

For me, despite raging a lot and disenchanting my entire collection back then, I liked GvG and Mechs a lot. We had a decent number of viable decks, and who can forget DR.7, I mean the best card ever

Most people seem to hate the MSoG meta of Pirate Warrior and Jades, but that was my favorite because Dragon Priest could fight and beat both of those if played well. I main Priest, but I don’t enjoy being stuck in control mode.

Maybe, but people must accept that the meta gets representation from each class.

Which is hard to comes by.

Take a look at this, prolly the best meta ever… in legend there was no tier s or tier 1 decks.

This. Un’goro was objectively the most balanced meta.
