7 games played, up against 7 shaman decks and lost all 7. I am using mage and hunter. What is the best deck to beat Shaman with? The new expansion feels really unbalanced or is it just me?
Last time I checked, the statistics were saying that the best way to beat Galakrond Shaman was to play Galakrond Shaman. Because apparently it’s totally healthy for there to be a 60+% win rate deck, with its worst matchup being the mirror, less than a week into the expansion.
I don’t have the subscription right now, need to update a lost CC, but is Quest Hunter a good deck? It has a surprisingly strong WR and I’m wondering if it is doing well against Shaman to get there.
The saying “ if you can’t beat em, join em” is true then.
I really despise being forced into playing a deck because it’s the best one. The game is so frustrating. Guess I’ll have to build a shaman deck.
I was thinking if there is any analysis/guide on the weakness of the few versions of G.Shaman, thus where players can better build a deck vs it.
(or any one intrerested to provide your own analysis/guide?)
Galakrond Shamans worst matchup right now is Galakrond Shaman, but if you want to play another class, I’d probably go with battlegrounds.
I have been doing “ok” vs them with warlock dragon zoo, and aggro hunter. Not crushing them or anything but it is not ushally a blowout unless they jusy “draw the nuts”.
The best counter is to play Battlegrounds.
Same with Zoolock, Enough of the time I can blow them out to not be a frustrating matchup just a normal slightly unfavorable one so far.

Super aggressive once like the new types of Pirate Warrior or Zoolock and hope they get a bad starting hand. Or play Galakrond yourself that should make it 50/50 at least
Shaman meta is so good, it has a 60% win rate against itself.
Actually gala shaman is extremely effective vs hyper aggression of the kind of pirate warrior and etc, most of the warrior early stuff gets cleared by the free 2/1 rushers, and after the early game it’s shamans show.
I didnt say it was great I said it was the best chance other than playing Shaman themself.
I’d say hyper control, like fatigue priest, should fare much better than hyper aggro vs them.
You don’t care if his minions have rush, you actually like it him drawing so heavily, etc
.....shirvallah pally
Thing is you gotta look from a meta perspective aswell, while the aggro decks such as Zoo and Pirate Warrior will be able to maintain a good winrate across the board fatigue decks won’t.
Sure if you can be 100% sure you will face Shaman than you can build a deck to directly counter that. But when having to consider the other meta decks aswell things get abit more tricky. And I just don’t see control decks as a viable option in this upcoming meta.
it’s unbalance because of the quest
I tried control warrior with mechs/dragons + boom… I can win, but I need have brawl in hand when they Galakrond and Shudderwock.
4 x 8/8 with rush + 5 dmg claw = a lot of stats for one turn
Paladin might beat it, I haven’t tried it because I don’t have any cards (F2P). they have Equality and can dragons high stats minions
Or arena, normally i’d also say tavern brawls but the recent ones have been uninspired trash especially this weeks whose only purpose seems to be to be so boring you go play standard to encourage you to buy packs.
quest shaman is the easy to beat one after ramping once they have problems dealing with evasive dragons on druid
so other decks may have better win rate vs quest one
if they dont run the quest thats when you have a challenge
