I’ve noticed that the timer starts when the first battle finishes and if you have long animations on your battle when you get back to recruiting you have like 30 seconds left and not the full minute plus! It’s cost me literally dozens of matches because I can’t buy and sell fast enough and rearrange in 30 seconds late game… please fix this!!
You can just close the app on your phone/computer right before you queue for a battle while in the tavern, and when you reconnect you have like 110 seconds and you can avoid the entire battle.
And if you can’t reconnect to your game it just means you lost. The upside is you gain time against poison/resummoning matchups, the downside is you can’t see what units they have and where they placed it.
The way time is counted is absurd, they should totally speed up some animations and make bob stop saying random stuff and just shut up.
This works?
I never reconnect in time.
But yes animations should be way shorter,i still often have 30 second for a turn.
At least give us the option to toggle a low graphics setting for the game (like almost every game has).
I often get less than that. I have a screenshot of recruit phase starting with 10 seconds on the timer. This kind of thing happens all the time. I always see players upgrading while im still watching combat. All players should start each phase at same time, with the same amount of time. It cant be that hard, other autochess games manage it, and without animations taking up most of your turn time. Personally, ive seen no evidence that Blizzard even cares about it. Been an ongoing issue.
Timer Issues
-
The Timer in each round is seemingly random and INCONSISTENT. It is also unfair to players to have or vs opponents w death-rattles or other drawn-out fights. (The theory as to why the timer is inconsistent is that the timer for each round combines Combat and Recruit together so if your Combat takes a long time, you have less time for Recruit.)
-
Some rounds such as the early rounds or the super late rounds, the Timer is TOO LONG and Everyone has to wait when Everyone is already finished.
-
Some rounds when Combat takes too long, the timer is actually TOO SHORT - no time left for Recruit. This is unfair to count Combat as part of the timer. Especially when the timer is not even displayed during Combat, and only shown during Recruit.
Proposed Solutions
-
Recruitment phase should NOT begin until all players’ battles are finished. I.e. Combat to NOT count as part of the timer. This will give everyone the same and consistent amount of time during Recruit.
-
Shorten the timers for Recruit. Make the timer for the 1st 3 rounds to be 20 seconds. Timer for rest of game is 40 seconds. This is about 50% of how much the timer (that included combat) is now most of time. This will save time and also make the timer consistent.
_And this Key solution:
- Add a Time Bank of 60 seconds to each player for the entire duration of the match. This will compensate for the shorten time of each rounds. This solution makes it Fair for the entire match yet provides flexibility for the player.
(The Time Bank is activated only when user click Time Bank button and the Recruit Timer has ran out. The Time Bank then counts down from 60 seconds. Player can stop the Time Bank to end the round and Save the remaining time in the Time Bank for future rounds.)
(note that the ready button others proposed will actually make the game much longer because the default action is no action, at least someone in the group of 8 will be taking their time and this will not work. It doesn’t solve the issue where there is NOT enough time. And if you want to solve this by increasing the amount of time and add a Ready button. You now make the game much longer.)
I play on mobile and it hasn’t failed me once, did it a few times on the desktop but don’t really play on my computer that much.
