Battlegrounds Tavern Timer

Why is it so inconsistent? Sometimes I have a complicated Tavern and barely any time to make it happen.

I Rank this as one of the top UI issues to fix before it leaves Beta (unless someone can give me a good reason it should stay as is).

It is because the fight sequences are counted as part of the timer. So if your fight takes a long time you will barely have any time and if it finishes fast you will have forever.

Thanks for the explanation.

That’s not a good system. My feedback is change it so everyone has the same amount of time.

I know, the tavern timmer shouldn’t start til after the last battle sequence is over, 10 coin moves in less than 30 seconds is almost impossible. Yay for animation delays

Hey this is Blizzard. You’ll get what they give and be happy for it.

Currently unplayable.
Lagging and no time to spend gold.

Nope. It’s fine the way it is. It encourages more thinking in terms of hero choice, positioning, etc so as to ensure you get through the combat phase quickly.

No, it means you get heavily punished because your opponent has Rat Pack, a few magnetized Replicating Menace and their Ghastcoiler rng’d into Sky Golems into Shredders and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Just played on my phone. In the last round I had literally 12 seconds for my whole turn - guess that’s why it is called 'Auto’chess, even your turn is skipped automatically

Everyone has the same amount of time per round (tavern + fight) right now.

As an example of why another system would not work, take someone who somehow manages to be matched up so that all their fights take 10-15 seconds for the first 10 rounds. Another player in that pool has a bunch of deathrattles and is matched up against other players with similar builds, so their fights take at least 40 seconds to play out.

If all players had the exact same amount of time in the tavern, then the player with shorter rounds would either get more tavern visits or they’d eventually have to wait a long time for the slower player without being able to do anything.

There could be an argument for having the fights play out faster if a lot of minion spawning abilities were involved, but trying to mess with the time players have in the tavern so everyone has the same amount of time doesn’t work well.

It’s not going to kill you to wait 30 sec for everyone else to be done.

It’s not like we’re talking about waiting for the next air flight to Australia.

The happy medium is that the tavern time starts when the last player is back in while also adding a ready button so that when everyone is ready the tavern phase ends prematurely.

I both hate and like it.

The very positive bonus of doing it this way is that games are quicker.

The very negative part is that latency plays a huge role in how effective you can be. Especially, if you’re playing Heroes like Dancin’ Deryl.

If they speed up the animations, significantly (which is a large request by many users) it should help alleviate some of the major issues while still keeping the same shared timer system.

They need to get rid of the unnecessary “rat pack” and “poison” visuals that make the match last longer for no reason.

That already happens, so there’s litterally nothing worth changing:

There needs to be an end turn button X.X

If you are forced to wait 30 seconds without having access to the tavern they need to implement the option to look at other boards/fights

I hope devs see this. I hate running out of time

Rofl dude how are they calling this the beta when it’s clearly the alpha? Nobody tested this garbage. I spend 1-2 useless minutes in the tavern every battleground, I get what? 40 seconds for turn 1 where there is nothing to do? And then 20 seconds when I have 10 gold and can only spend it on minions, the useless animations of buying/selling minions take up several seconds of that time aswell.

Looking back at it I find it hilarious that I was really excited for the new mode because I’ve known Blizzard for decades and in my opinion they are evil, I reckon they won’t put in any effort to make Hearthstone interesting while earning countless millions with it.

Seriously, nah thanks. It needs to be fixed and have more minions to be fun, more minions mean more imbalance or boredom and Blizzard never put any real effort into making Hearthstone better or fixing it for example by balancing it and implementing bugfixes.

Now I asked wikipedia and found out:
A game in alpha is feature complete , that is, game is playable and contains all the major features.

So I correct my statement: This game (mode) is not even in the alpha stage. It’s simply unplayable once a couple of deathrattles go off, you have to time to make more than 2 plays in the late stages if you or your opponent have any deathrattles, this means it’s neither “playable” nor “contains all the major features”, it’s not in the beta nor alpha stage of development. And if all of the 8 players in a battleground are buying the same couple of murlocs, mechs or demons to avoid deathrattles then this is a really degenerated, boring rng-cointoss-game.

Proof or you’re just speculating.

Like I’m going to believe someone who quotes WIkipedia as fact.

You’re obviously not a game developer so stop pretending like you know more than the devs do.
