I’m working on my own sort of game with a similar mechanic, but I thought this would work well in Battlegrounds:
And “Overkill” keyword. Where if you as a hero, or a specific minion that kills so many other minions causes and effect.
Example: a minion that says “Overkill (10): summon a 5/5 minion”. It’d kinda have a counter to itself, but it’d also be a nice soft counter to beasts or undead or pirates or whatever tribe that spawns a lot of extra minions.
One more idea I had with this was a hero power that affects the economy. So an “Overkill (15) your opponent has one less available coin the next turn”
That minion was already amazing, why would it get even MORE power?
Sounds power creepy.
Removing a random opponents economy is 100% how to get your player base to hate your game and never play it. Losing one gold on a turn can basically doom that player to an 8th.
Why even give a bonus to a player, … for being already at overkill? Bonuses should be given for combos that haven’t already paid off; this is just bonus on already a bonus; it’s not like this past two metas weren’t already powercreeped on their own.
I have no idea what you are going on about but i was specifically talking about the effect of removing one gold from an opponents turn.
Oh, I think I see the issue now. I haven’t played standard in a long time and didn’t realize “overkill” was a keyword in it. It was just a term I was using for the idea.
The idea being that after so many enemy minions die, something happens.
I think it would give a nice counter to those builds that produce a bunch of lower health minions (reborn, sky pirate…etc)
And in my example of the hero power, it probably wouldn’t have much effect unless you’re producing a lot of minions early. Late game, you’re searching for like one or two more cards and so having one less refresh probably isn’t a big deal.
yes! but attach it to an individual minion killing them, or do it in a hero power way like they do avenge on those.
Those might be different keywords, I guess.
Change the battlegrounds team. This team sucks and bg needs a new direction
