Battlegrounds problem

Battlegrounds is fun and all, all heroes are good some abit better but not complaning about that, the big problem comes when you wanna build your team…

Basically doesnt matter what hero you have, if you don’t get a copy of your card you’re screwd, i’ve even tried refreshing playing patchwerk and not using any gold coins on Tier button, just kept refreshing just to see when my 3rd card for any card i pick 2 of I never see them again from Tier1 up to Tier6…

Anyone who get lucky enough to get all the cards and copies you need will basically win the BG…this is just a game of pure roulette.

I’ve top4’d plenty of games only getting one upgraded card. Getting 0 upgrades over the course of an entire game is incredibly unlikely. It also shouldn’t be a top priority, especially not in the early game. Mid and late game when you have the freedom to keep rolling you can search for duplicates but it really isn’t that necessary.

I played around 50 games, i have 5 1st place 45 top 4, its not about winning or loosing, this is just bad in general.

They need to fix this, so many times I sat on T6 not getting any of the cards I must habe to win the game…its unreal how bad the RNG is.

You are picking from a draft pool, if you don’t get the las copy of something someone else probably took the last copy. Although i recognize the frustration

Oh so all the players can “steal” each others cards? I thought the pool was for each n owns.

means you do safer picks instead trying to find a game winning one. I have 38 top 4 and 14 first. But my top 4 rate slightly lower than you since i also about 50 games or so.

Safe build is okay, but it does not win you the game due to the fact that other players get the better cards then you. The sad truth I’ve had what would be considered top 10 best cards you can have just not all 3x copies and still lost due to the other player had 3x copies of other cards which is stronger health/attack wise.

I wont think its always that case. I recently won with a beast build without a single mama bear and one of my minion is even a mech because… i cant find the right beast. I have also beaten a person with golden junkbot with 2 junkbot non golden.

If you upgrade the Tavern too slow and you are competing with anyone else for those tier six cards who upgraded faster then you, it’s going to be a tough road to get your tier six cards especially in triple.

Part of the game is knowing when to upgrade, another is knowing when your card is likely not left in the card pool and either sticking with what you have to figuring out something different at the end stages of the game.

From a random point of view I think they’ve reach a pretty good point it could of course be better but it could be alot worse aswell. I feel that the difference how you choose to play will make a difference and some people can turn a really poor hand into something quite alright.

I would say being able to consistently reach top 4 shows that you understand and play the game well. Winning a game however is a combination of playing well and being lucky because at the end of the day someone will get lucky and create something you just cannot beat how badly you want.

I mean having a board of 7x20+/20+ minions all with divine shield and some poisonos just aint skill its pure luck of the draw.

Problem is once you decide to go for certain build and in a late game you realize there are multiple players going same route as you. If you are lucky - you are ahead of them and you should win against them. If you are unlucky - you fell behind with little to no hope to push your plan thus falling even more behind.

Sure, you can still score top 4 (you wont win against players with better luck) but you can still outlast your way to top 4.

Also you can change your plan on the move if you are feeling other are going the same way (kinda bad with current matchmaking where you can face only 2 players over and over).
If you would be lucky, you would get offered solid choices to make that transition less painful and if the RNG would be on your side, you wouldnt be matched against top 2 players over and over again till you are defeated

Its just heavy RNG game. Just take it as one and enjoy it. No point beating yourself / others over some unlucky runs.

Okay, thats why then, the one who upgrade faster will get all the best cards for that specific player okay makes sense now, I do upgrade when needed, not before or to slow. I do play good since I always end up top 4. I guess i need to upgrade faster for those good cards

Pathweavers and Soul Jugglers.

Pathweavers get to be 58/58s rather easy.

But yeah, grab merlons cause the system is throwing them at you left and right but no triples. Just buffed merlocs which get crushed my gain divine shields repeatedly or death repeatedly or summon rats mega scavengers…

Can have a could Mech setup going then run try so you grab on death rattle gain divine shield cause 2 of those and then…refresh 10 times for two turns in a row and can’t get a 3rd. Now getting crushed by everything.

And then when you get a triple you snatch it up but the animation runs out the clock so you missed out on 2 minions and lose bad.

The problem is noob chasing triples. You get better results just going for the best team you can field with what the shop gives you instead of being greedy and holding garbage and getting chunked for 20 chasing a triple. The same thing that goes for poker goes for this. You got to know when to hold them and know when to fold them. Sure triples can cheese you a win by getting you something like Lightfang early but if you are getting chunked by having a garbage team that lightfang isn’t going to help when you dead.

Also this mode isn’t about getting first all the time its about finishing in the top half and minimizes loses. RNG happens and you gave ELO as long as you finish in the top half. You could be handed a weak hero or crappy store as long as you minimize the loses from bad RNG you are gaining rating.

You can switch and make it. I once hit a mama bear fairly late but still before anyone else from zerus and just sold my entire board of mechs but the divine shield big one and went straight up beasts because of it. Got 1rst easily

Agreed on the first para. Disagree with the 2nd because I play to get first not top 4 lol. Still my top 4 rate is about 90% but when I build, I build with the final fight in mind. Sadly, I just got 3 2nd in a row… Sigh.

I play for first also just not getting first isn’t the end of the world. Sometimes RNG kicks you in the nuts and when that happens you minimize the loses. Everyone who played this mode enough sees at least one game where someone got the God RNG much like Poker sometimes someone gets the nuts and when that happens the best players have a good sense when its better to fold and minimize the loss. The way people complain its like Its First place or nothing and that’s what is wrong. Better players are going to build a higher rating over many games but sometimes Derpy Noob will get the nuts and be unstoppable for 1 game out of thousands.

Playing for first means taking big risks potentially dragging your score down overall. Going for top 4 and trying to get lucky is how I seem to roll. But then I try murlocs again and get 6th

Some people say shoot for the moon and even you miss, you will fall upon the stars. But yea some risk backfire hard. Generally though, top 4 isn’t too hard.
