It’s really really reeeeaaaally grating to deal with. The animations take too long and there’s no counter for deathrattle, so there’s nothing you can do about it.
At least reborn, divine shield, and toxic all have counters.

ALL the token builds require a large combination of cards to win a lobby. Big minion builds generally beat them easily.
My biggest annoyance with this season is it’s very P2W. There are no trinkets or other similar powerful custom effects so the main game changer outside the board is the hero selection, and they made it worse this time by even having extra p2w hero selection tokens on top.
I agree the animations take way to long. But you can beat them with big minions. Well as long as you get the cards you need
Not when they’re spamming out like 40 +60 attack minions.
That’s a complete end game build though. You aren’t getting a build like that mid game. End game builds are supposed to be crazy and powerful.
I get that, but it’s still ridiculous. You can scam big minions with Leeroy, venom, the spell that reduces hp of a random minion to 1, etc.
There’s literally 0 counter for deathrattle. You can dispell it like you can with taunt/reborn, you can’t clear it with the board-wide dmg deathrattle minion like you can with divine shield. You can’t bait it like you can with venom. There’s literally 0 counter for deathrattle. There needs to be one.
Plus it’s just absolutely aggravating to watch minion after minion spawn and waste time. I don’t like having to close and reopen the game every time I encounter token builds. I’ve literally had my turn skipped because of it one time.
You basically play for 2nd place. If you watch the top players that stream you will hear them say this when they know their build has no chance of first and they are just trying for second.
Seasonal Mechanics usually allow for some kind of strategy to combat those builds but not having one is hurting BG’s IMO.
Power creep has exacerbated this issue to comical levels. The power scaling is out of hand, so you cannot squeak by unless you’re high rolling.
It does feel like you’re either rolling the lobby or everyone’s rolling you without any in-betweens. I’m holding out some hope that there will be a seasonal mechanic coming out in february but if not then I’m probably out for this season because the builds are just kinda boring and it kinda feels like the game is forcing me into a certain MMR with easy games I roll over everyone into games that completely stomp me where anything I get going is infinitely worse than everything everyone else has
I feel this so profoundly. I got a good streak of not getting screwed by rng and went from 6k to 6.6k, and now I’ve been getting absolutely shafted, so I’m back down to 6k.
6K just recently became easy to me too. The difficulty of the rating depends on the timing inside the season because at the start of the season even the best players are in low ranks.
The MMR systems of Blizzard are contaminated by the rank floors because some players of your skill are locked inside higher ranks so you won’t face them until you go there.
This is very clear from Constructed, because If you have the skill to go Legend: it’s much easier in pre-Legend at the end of the month but much harder early in the month.
