Hi there,
Presumably due to overflow issues, minions can scale up to 2^31-1 attack but no higher. When their attack hits it seems to do 0 damage (or perhaps does negative damage which isn’t represented correctly).
While this bug has been around forever, the introduction of Persisten Poet, Nightbane, and Yu’lon makes it simple and relatively reliable to hit this bug in any game with dragons.
Steps to reproduce:
-
Have a board consisting of some combination of Persistent Poet and Nightbane, Ignited, such that Nightbane can apply its own deathrattle to itself (or other Nightbanes), allowing for exponential scaling. Using other cards such as Yu’lon, Fortune Granter to permanently make Poet/Nightbane golden and Monstrous Macaw or Titus Rivendare to multiply the effects exacerbates the issue.
-
Wait a few turns while Nightbane repeatedly permanently exponentiates your board’s damage
-
Observe at least one card hit 2,147,483,647 attack.
-
Observe that card hit another for 0 damage
Rough calculations show that the following board will reliably exceed max damage in just a few turns:
[Monstrous Macaw, Nightbane, Poet, Poet, Nightbane, Rivendare, Rivendare], all golden.
