Battlegrounds: Make Divine Shield and Poison Not Stack

It’s always been too strong. It’s always going to be too strong. Divine Shield shouldn’t ever be able to stack with Poison. Ever. For any reason.

I don’t see the problem, isn’t it great when you have a board with murlocs and you manage to get a shield on them? I understand it sucks when your opponent has a board like that and you don’t, but next time you could possibly try and get a board like that yourself. Problem solved

This combo is insanely, vastly, ultra stupendously ridiculously minuscule compared to the 10,000 other gamebreaking problems in Battlegrounds right now lol.

I’d rather face DS & Poison every BG if it meant fixing even ONE of the absurdly overpowered buddies, or the health, or the damage cap, or any chance of someone high rolling to KO me on turn 7 after someone left.

I’d rather give George FREE and unlimited shields every turn than continue the way things are right now. I wish matches lasted long enough for me to care about shields and poison.

The only issue (if that) I have with DS/Poison is if the minion is capable of being buffed with both AND starts with one of the two.

I think the Quilboar/Naga is one of the better balances of poison since it must be refreshed each turn, which means you must invest in two Naga with a Spellcraft.

This is true, unless you manage to get the Greta gold spell , stick it on the Pufferquil, followed by a bloodgem or banana, and voila, it has poison for eternity.

True, but this is yet another invest that must be made in addition to rolling the minion in the shop.

Also, I don’t think you roll for Pufferquill let alone make a build around her. If these options present themselves early enough, I’ll probably pick it up, but it’s nothing game winning, thus why I think Puffer is balanced in the Poison department.

Tunnel Blaster > Shields

Poison in general is dumb and should be deleted, along with Leroy, Band Manager, repeating battle cries, Malygos because his buddy is Galakrond on methamphetamines, and virtually anything that gives you access to T6 minions before you’re even out of T3.

You sound like you work for Blizzard.

No, I just like playing BG’s, even when I lose, as it’s only a game. And when I lose from someone that has a better board than I have, then I try to accomplish that myself next time. As simple as that.
But each to their own.

So no endgame strategies at all? Then all games (for example) will be decided on who got Nomi first, or Baron, or Brann. It would just be a game of big minions with little to no punish.

This must be a troll response because it’s just so stupid

I want you to hear me out on this, because my response is going to sound like crazy talk. New ideas often do. But have you ever considered that if you don’t enjoy a game, you could just stop playing it?

I know. It’s a weird idea, right?

Get off of my posts lmao. I’m not trolling. Endgame strategies shouldn’t come in the form of Leroy, and definitely shouldn’t come when you’re still in tavern 3. The abrupt curve from 1-2 damage to an outright slaughter is way too fast right now, and if you don’t think so then you’re probably the one trolling.

Instead of hoping for new ideas that make it more enjoyable? Yeah sounds totally crazy.

People have been using the “if you don’t like it play something else” line since vanilla wow. It’s tired.

blood gems are spells, and automatically casting them with one of the other mininons counts…You don’t need to have spell craft to make it work.

Sounds like this isn’t your game.

Sounds like you’re assuming I don’t like the game because certain mechanics are silly, overpowered, or just plain annoying, which is not the case. Considering the original post is a complaint about that exact issue, I don’t see my statement as unreasonable.

You go from +1 attack and +2 attack all game, then incomes poison and you have +infinite?

Sounds like trash talk isn’t your game since I’ll always have a logical argument for my complaint but all you’ll have is “go play something else” lol. Tired, and it’s tantamount to kys which is incredibly hateful.

My trash talk will never rival your ignorance.

Right?

Complaining about the most beatable noob build in the game really identifies one as a solid player… /s

Where was I complaining about a specific build? If you see my first reply, I clearly said there were way bigger problems than ds & poison. I was also the first person to mention ghoul so it’s fairly clear that I’m not ignorant to the counters. You’re insane if you think everything about battlegrounds is fair and balanced right now and there’s nothing they should work on. How obnoxiously unreasonable.

Yes, that’s exactly what competent players think of your ideas here.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware there were competent players here, how inconsiderate of me. I thought this was a Blizzard forum where we’re all aware that we’re contributing absolutely nothing and nothing we say will be read by anyone that matters. Oh wait no that’s exactly what’s going on.

Also, just because you need a Leroy because you can’t match someone’s stats 1v1 doesn’t make you competent. It makes you desperate, at best.

Being desperate to stay in the game isnt a bad thing. Its not dishonorable in any regard for this circumstance. It’s really just taking the best option available even if the odds are its not going to go your way. A Hail Mary Pass, I believe it is called. A Shot in the Dark. Rolling the Dice. If it works, its amazing. If not, you gave it your all. How do you close a gap of stats of say my board of 7x 20/30s to your 7x 100/200s in a single turn?

I don’t like poison, but I feel like they did a good job of making it harder to access so you’re not seeing full poison murloc boards all the time like before.

Poison and Leeroy are necessary to counter having one huge Merc to win the whole game. That’s fine. Poison with DS is the issue. That’s potentially 2 guaranteed kills on mercs of infinite size. Even if you run DS yourself, they have the advantage. If you use the taunt Merc that does 3 damage to everything when it dies, you lose your own DS too, which is the only counter to poison and kills Leeroy unless you’re buffing him.

It’s exceptionally hard to counter poison/ds and it counters a lot of stuff. It’s even worse when you consider how insanely large you can scale those minions.

It needs changing.
