I’ve noticed that the Lord Barov hero ability doesn’t always reward gold ona correct prediction. I know this for certain because one round it offered me my next opponent as a choice and I knew that opponent had a stronger warband so I chose them. When they DID win, I was awarded no gold coins. It may also be a bug that the choice offered included my own next opponent and a random other opponent.
Yes, you shouldn’t be offered a choice between your next opponent and a third player. You should only be offered your next opponent when the two of you are the only ones left in the lobby
