How many hours do you play a day btw? I play BGs only as a casual secondary format (so rarely more than 2 or 3 games a day) and I feel like I run out of time to even rank. E.g. at ~6.5K I start finding it hard to progress but at the same time I arrive there relatively late in the season.
Maybe 1-2 hours 2-3 times a week ATM. Sometimes i play a little extra when i am on a business trip and need to kill some time. I switch between BG’s and TFT depending on what i am in the mood when i have free time.
I am always above 11K+ each season so ranking back up to a minimum of 10K is usually pretty easy with how long I keep max points gains.

so when the RNG offers me nothing of value and nothing that scales and all bad trinkets, so i’m left with garbage while everyone else is hitting for 100… that’s a me thing?

The times the rng is as bad as you claim are a tiny, tiny fraction of games and most of the time I can go back and see where I would have been better making different choices.
Dude plays all the time, and when he’s not, he’s watching twitch. He got called out on that a few months back, saying “it takes '100s of games to master spell apm,” like 3 weeks into the season.
