I’ve never in my life played something labeled as a “game” that was more dictated by complete luck. Every single aspect of the format is dictated by it. from the hero selection, to the tavern selection, to the matching opponent, to the options it gives when get a triple, to even the way the friggen battle is supposedly random. There is pretty much NOTHING in the format that isn’t luck dictated. There is soooo much they could do to reduce the amount of game dictated by, but they don’t. It’s like they don’t mind
the format being a coin flip luck based thing.

A lot of people REALLY seem to like that kind of format.
Me? I’m not fan of it and cannot take it seriously at all.
The solution is probably just to not play it, rather than get so worked up over it.

This is what I do. It’s only fun when playing with a friend to discuss crazy stuff happening to me.
tell me about it, i just had 4 minions in a row attack the same minion that was not taunted while there were still 5 targets up.
Just imagine if…
You could choose ANY hero. If everyone was choosing the same one then it would be obviously overpowered and need to be adjusted or removed.
If you could choose ANY minion from the tier when you discover from triples. One of the biggest X factors is whether you get gold or trash with these discovers.
Just those 2 small changes would go a long way towards making it a more competitive format.
idk i find it really fun, and there is a degree of strategy, even if not much.

I like random aspects of the game, to me battlegrounds gets to repetitive, still fun though.
i like it too 95% done in progress …what i do not understand why i not get any new hero to select after like 200 game …yes i not have battlepass but is still lol never avilable any
I climbed up to 6,600 and had two straight awful games to drop back below 6,400. Shouldn’t happen - they need to fix the game to give people who know what they are doing a chance in every game. As it is if you get a little unlucky no matter what you do it’s just automatic 7th or 8th place.
EDIT: Another bottom 3 finish. Fix the game.
battlegrounds is like those skilled slot machines, its not gambling, but we all know that it is
also its free, you arent forced to play it
It’s a slot machine and I don’t like it.
But many people do, and spend cash on it, so there is no reason the developers would ever removed it, especially when it has so much potential for $$$.
battlegrouns is the only thing that hearthstone done right. it’s free and you can play it together with friend. it does not require older expansion cards that you already dusted or gold to enter.
The fact the game is full RNG is the core of all the strategy.
The game is forcing you to adapt considering what is given to you.
To place units considering what can happen.
To select he hero even if you can’t play it well.
It’s only full luck if your decision making is random (eg you’re playing poorly), but considering the fact it’s always the same people at the top of the ranking, I guess people are skilled at the game.
It’s literally Hearthstone game mode the less asking for money and still there are people claiming things like that.
Do you happen to use your brain before using a pre-constructed argument?

It is one of the best modes made.
As said before, it is pretty much free (you can buy the Battlegrounds pass with gold). You don’t need to play it if you don’t like it.
With regard to the randomness, there is enough to balance it out. Because there is randomness in rolls, triples, attack order, etc, on average, things level out quite easily. In regular Hearthstone, the randomness might dominate even more. Your starting hand and draw are very important, not even taking into account the “created by” meta.
It is more skill than you give it credit for. It’s not for nothing that the same players dominate the leaderboards and tournaments. Some builds are actually very difficult to play.

I like BG. It’s more fun to me than constructed, but the crazy t6+ damage and power of t5/6 minions really ruins it. That’s about it really. If they just nerfed the tier 6 quillboar, beast and elemental minions as well as OP things like Amalgadon , I think it would be near perfect. Also, a lot of the heroes are complete garbage but that’s like a side thing since I’ve won at 6500+ rating without a hero power (patchwerk with little damage or non demon Jaraxxus). All in all, it could use some polish but it’s already pretty fun unless you wanna make the push for 7k or 8k, in which case all fun is gone and you’ll be killed by the midrange comps.
Oh no, it’s still 100% gambling. It’s just you can use decisions to increase your odds. It’s a slot machine for kids.
