Just got done playing a guy in the battle and he had tier 6 minion (Sister Deathwhisper) while they were still only tier 2 or 3 (don’t recall exactly - think I saw them level up to 3 after the match.
The bonus ability for the battleground was 5 refreshes and you get the golden monkey, which does give you a tier token when played, but you would still need to already be tier 5 when playing the monkey to get a tier 6 minion, which they definitely weren’t.
Their hero was Varden Dawngrasp - Passive. After the Tavern is Refreshed, copy its highest Tier minion and Freeze them both. Again, not even Tier 5 to get a golden tier 6 token card.
How was this possible? I would love to know this trick.
Going by your description, the most likely explanation is Patient Scout.
Otherwise, no clue

It’s either that or he nabbed a Golden faceless for a double evolve from something he evolved previously. The Tavern Tier he was on during the game is important to know though. Was it 2 or 3 he played from?
I don’t see how he survived that long in that lobby on tier 2 or 3? You can sit on tier 4 in specific lobbies but 3 i cannot see it.

That’s actually a good call as well. His hero ability would make it easy to get multiple Faceless Disciples (copy and freeze, so you could keep getting 2 at a time to evolve).
I should’ve made a better note of exactly where we were at in the game, but it was earlish enough to know that I would not of expected a tier 6 minion from anyone, so I was too busy going wth is happening. LOL

Double faceless freezing, maybe getting another faceless could get you there. Scout is another option.
I always nab scout if I see it on the first tier 2 refresh. Great swing minion .

A minion that is great early game for the tempo/economy it provides and late game for the insane ability to cycle and possibly create economy at the same time. Arguably the best general use minion in BG and one that most players have no idea how to leverage correctly.
