I mean golden heroes in Battlegrounds, like Millhouse, Reno etc.
To make a bigger difference between paying and F2P players. It could be the way, to justify the price for perks.
Cosmetic purchases that do not affect gameplay should be a focus. If I was in charge there would be purchasable avatars for forums, 5 more heroes per class, tons of cardbacks, alternate animations on cards, alternate art for cards, game boards, ect.
Totally! I hope that someone from Blizzard will see this post and responsible team will be inspired to implement it. Imagine Battlegrounds with those shiny golden animated portraits and hero powers. Would be even more satisfying to play and price for perks would be more fair.
If that ever happens I also hope that they will allow for it to be turned off since “shiny” kills my FPS, which will be fixed soon, but there’s probably more outliers like I am right now and fast animations are important in BG.
9.99 EUR for golden hero portrait of your choice.
14.99 EUR for pack of random 3 board themes
19.99 EUR hero pass - get +1 hero choice (you can buy up to 4 times)
49.99 EUR - get all bundles (hero pass +2) for duration of current expansion
I speculate that in the future, we’re going to get this.
It’s a no brainer addition, easy way to add cosmetic value to the game, and some cards already have the potential by default (dragons in their human forms for example, nefarian already has a alternate human art).
But in typical blizzard fashion, content that is supposed to be out years ago, will get split and added little by little, just to milk the most out of it.
SC2, and most of all D3, used this sad method. For D3 in particular, the method backfired to the point of ruining the game. But so far, HS gets away with it. Let’s see how much they’ll draw these changes too.
I mean, I don’t really care who pays or not. You can kinda see it already, when someone doesn’t emote whole game (although there might be some players who just don’t like to use them even if they have perks).
But the idea of seasons in Battlegrounds and golden heroes as a reward is also nice! It could be based on rng, or on hero which you played most that season. That could also lead to picking less “OP” heroes, if I would already have him golden. Because lot of players wants to “catch them all”
