Battlegrounds Duo's Basic Etiquette

If you want a happy teammate that is willing to support your side of the board, follow these basic etiquette guidelines for Battlegrounds Duo’s (in no particular order):

Do not tell your teammate what hero to pick.
Takes away the agency your teammate has in selecting their own play style while simultaneously giving them advance notice you will be filling their entire screen with questions and check marks later.

Do not claim something from your teammates board prior to Rd 3 at least.
Neither of you has any idea what your final board state will be early in the game and annoyingly requesting a minion when there is only 4 or 5 gold to spend is a bit selfish and will likely cause more selfish play from your teammate.

Don’t quit because your teammate didn’t see or respond to your markings.
You can’t edit markings if you are using a phone with the app, and on those platforms the game tends to sync a bit behind better systems. Communication isn’t easy with the limited options so rage quitting because your teammate is ignoring you is just silly.

Don’t be scared to go for the same things.
There are enough cards in the game that you and your teammate could potentially have a fully leveled board with the same minion types. This will probably cause the rest of the players to not be able to fully level the board eliminating competition.

Stay until the bitter end.
If you abandon your teammate, you are just missing the whole point of the game. It’s random MMR for who you get assigned to, sure, but that’s what makes it challenging. If you can’t carry someone else then you’re not a perfect player yet and practice would probably do you good, so stick in there.

If anyone has anything else to add, feel free.

There’s not enough pings for the bad players and playing solo in duos makes me feel so much better about my own gameplay. Posts like these are quite telling to avoid them in game

1)poeple need help sometimes , i had a teammate recently pick ouzamat instead of literally 3 of the top 10 heros

  1. ur totally right

  2. this is why mobile and cpu players shouldnt be teamed up without having a better / another way to communicate. It can ruin the PC players experience , and thats clearly what they built the system around as they clearly dont care that mobile players cant talk , which is one of the main reasons to play a co op mode. TO CO OPPERATE with eachother

4)its actually really bad to go for the same thing unless you have a crazy value generating engine (brann tethys / brann ele battlecry trigger / etc.) one player getting all the minions of that type and the other player going full support will usually work better

5)if ur team mate is constantly making wrong plays , you in no way “have to” or “should” stay. It limits your fun , which is the only thing that matters when you are playing a game

yeah, try to no control your teammate
i have one game with the autotaunt tree (dont remember the name)
turn 5, no beast on my board or shop (was a beast lobby) but i got an incredible Quilboar setup, they guy complain about the heropower the whole game and quit mid game
i still got 2nd, with some help could be a 1st
dont complain and play, or get a friend and play with him

The hatred I have for other players in heartstone is beyond the joke now

So much so I wish there was a punch in the face button

The most important etiquette: If you see me queueing for BG Duos n get me as your teammate, run! i’m mid at best at BGs! :sob:
