Is this a viable play?;
Turn 1: Buy Deck Swabbie, leave it in hand
Turn 2: Level and Play Deck Swabbie
Turn 3: Level.
I am not good at Battlegrounds, but I think it’s too risky. Yes, you reach tavern level three much earlier then everyone else, but there is no guarantee that you will get any good minions as a reward.
its not risky at all, in fact i do it all the time, its like playing afk but as other heroes, plus you are normally on 3 before most others

It can be worth it.
The turn 1 is only 2 damage after all, 3 in the worst case.
with a 2/2 you would also lose any battle against a 2/3, so in many situation you would lose anyways

Depends on your hero, but generally, yes, it’s slightly high risk move, but can pay off pretty well.
That’s (among other things) probably why I am not good at battlegrounds
There’s honestly not a set answer and it really depends mostly on who else is in your lobby and what hero you have.
If you are facing milhouse on turn three, it could be a big deal. Curator and N’zoth also have extra minions for extra damage.
If you have slower heroes in your lobby, you should be fine.
It’s a gamble that can very often pay off and if you think it’s your best play, do it.
