The subgame of hearthstone is actually far better then the main game.
More fun,more debt,more difficult,less rng,higher skill ceiling.

Obviously, there are going to simply be a segment of the population that prefer Battle Grounds over standard. Standard is in a really bad place right now. It’s very conceivable that standard is the absolute worst it’s ever been (save if you just love Shaman)
If standard can improve (I’m skeptical) and when the new shiny wears off of Battle Grounds standard will likely be played more often again.

Dang, I didn’t realize you have to do so skill to buy and sell minions.
The mechanical skill of Hearthstone is like negative. The game knowledge side isn’t that much. Don’t try to justify a game mode via skill ceilings.
Also Battlegrounds is boring AF after you realize there’s actually zero point in playing it.
I realized that in my second game, it’s like brawl but doesn’t update each week.

You could argue that the “rng” type effects are much less rng in that mode due to the smaller pool they can hit.
Summon a 2 cost minion is much much more reliable in terms of effect in that mode.
But then, attack rng.
Maybe it balances out to “equally as much rng as standard”

Bringing back wild cards into standard was a huge mistake. Things like N’zoth and Sylvannas should forever burried in Wild.
But I’m worrying that Blizz will mess up Battleground once beta ends. Like if they put a 150g paywall like arena then the mode is dead.
No … if you have cards enough the constructed is pretty decent. And battlegrounds is still in beta.
Battlegrounds is casual Hearthstone. Simple, easy, and fun. But as a competitive format, it’s not very interesting.

5353 rating on f2p eu now,still making so many mistakes but learning so much.
The timer is an issue,often I cant play the last minion and then I lose lol (did happen several times). Its very unforgiving but I like that,a real challenge. If you miss a little bit of tempo or make small mistake midgame or later then you are gone. This game is so far above hs when it comes to skill level,at least in my opinion.
6000 elo is first goal,long way to go ha ha. But its fun so who knows.

Yeah, I am shocked about how much I have been playing Battlegrounds. With that said I already find the mode becoming a bit more ./meh to me but that is fine

this may be off-topic, but I just played my first Battlegrounds game with the result of 1st Place (1) ,Top 4 (1), Rating 4000.
I guess this is off to a good start but I am sure to meet competition whenever I may play a second game to complete the Battlemaster quest.
The mode is definitely more fun than ladder right now

You need to know which ones to buy and when, and which ones to sell and when.
There is skill involved in that.

They’re doing regular updates to it. They did some balance changes last week, and next week they’re adding new heroes & more balance changes.

I’m enjoying the tempo play and resource management. Yes there is RNG but it’s nothing compared to the ridiculous things that happen on the ladder. It’s a new, fun mode. Much more enjoyable than arena or tavern brawl for me.

Its got severe issues. Whoever gets lightbane discovered early just wins. Its way too good. Especially if u get tier 5 and find 3 early. 16/16 stats everyturn for free is almost unbeatable
