I just managed to unlock the Black Temple Coin, but after making it favorite and making the normal coin skin not favorite, it still doesn’t appear in Battlegrounds. I was under the impression that it should change the appearance of coins for BG as well?
So after playing a couple more games today, I found some coins through Lord Barov and Shell Collector and they had the coin skin. It looks like only coins generated by cards instead of bought by the shop has coin skins. For some reason it didn’t work yesterday, perhaps I needed to relog to reset it.

You are right. I forgot the coins that are generated by Shell Collector and Pirates. Those use the coin skins.
The coin skins didn’t work for weeks but this got patched now.

Another update. I think that playing duos with a friend are what is causing the coins not to work, whereas with a random it seems to work perfectly.
