[battlegrounds] Can't sell a card in my hand if board is full

I get the message “you can’t play that minion, bord full” but only wanted to sell it and wasn’t able to do that.

That’s an intentional limitation.

Not to be able to sell a minion in hand?

Yes. You can sell minions which are in play, not the ones in hand, that is part of the game.

Ah allright I missed this rule, sorry! Fact is that the error message is different and misleading: it just says you can’t play that minion, not that you can’t sell it. Thanks anyways.

Well, this is NOT what one of the tips message says…

There appear to be 21 loading screen tips for Battlegrounds, and none of them say that you can sell minions from your hand. Which text would you be referring to?

When searching for a game, there’s a hint that says you can sell creatures DIRECTLY FROM YOUR HAND. But it does not work.

  • When you get a triple, you also discover a minion of your Tavern Tier +1.
  • Minions will attack from left to right with random targets, unless an enemy minion has taunt.
  • Shifter Zerus can transform into a minion of any Tavern Tier!
  • When you win, your hero and minions deal damage equal to their Tavern Tier.
  • The cost to upgrade your Tavern decreases by 1 each turn.
  • There are only six copies of the Tier 6 minions. When bought, they are gone for everyone!
  • Freeze minions to buy them next turn, or do it again to unfreeze them.
  • Three golden minions do not combine into a bigger Triple.
  • You can see your next opponent indented on the scoreboard. Prepare yourself.
  • When an odd number of players remain, Kel’Thuzad will resurrect the minions of a fallen opponent and join the battle.
  • Win streaks are shown on the scoreboard with an “On Fire” symbol.
  • Only buffs that happen in the Tavern are permanent. Combat buffs go away after fighting.
  • If your opponents purchase many copies of one minion, you will see less of it.
  • If a minion is sold, it returns to the pool, so you will see it again more often.
  • If you spend all your gold increasing your Tavern Tier, your army will fall behind, and you may lose.
  • If you never increase your Tavern Tier, your army will fall behind, and you may lose.
  • Murlocs are stronger in the early game, while Mechs are stronger in the late game.
  • If you have 1 gold left over, refresh the Tavern – If you see a minion you like, freeze it for the next turn.
  • With 8 players, being in the Top 4 is a win! First places gets you the Crown!
  • All players recruit minions from the same shared pool.
  • When you wipe out an opponent, their minions go back into the pool.

That appears to be the current list of Battlegrounds tips. If any others exist, they aren’t part of the main list and I haven’t seen them anywhere. If you see additional tips that are spreading false information, you should screenshot the exact text and post it so they can be tracked down and removed.

I remember reading the devs eventually want to add selling from your hand, but it’s currently not an available feature.

One way or another. It’s a bug. Or because you can sell and the game doesn’t let you do when your board is full, or because we get the wrong message.

Anyway. For me, appear to be the first situation, because:
1 - It’s possible to sell minions from your hand when your board is not full.
2 - The message say that you can’t play.
3 - It’s like the game think that you are trying to play the card because you move into the board.

This is not true, I just tried to drag a minion from my hand to Bob’s portrait to sell it, and what happened is that it was dragged on the board. Then I could drag it to Bob to sell it, so it has to be played first.

Edit: I play on PC, it is possible the interface on mobile behaves differently.
