Battlegrounds - Akazamzarak, Redemption, and Scallywag

Sorry I don’t have a screencap or video of this as I was playing on mobile.
As Akazamzarak, round 3, I had two Scallywags on board and Redemption ( = When a friendly minion dies, return it to life with 1 Health)
Opponent was Kael’Thas with Murlocs so he attacked first.

Sequence of events:

  1. Murloc Tidehunter attacks and kills Scallywag
  2. Scallywag deathrattle triggers, summoning Sky Pirate
  3. Sky Pirate attacks a minion and dies.
  4. Redemption triggers, resummoning Sky pirate ?!

I expected Redemption to summon Scallywag as it died first. As this was round 3 and the Scallywags were my only minions, this wasn’t an issue with my board being full.
I didn’t repeat this interaction in a later round, but I did confirm that the Effigy secret does trigger immediately upon the Scallywag dying if there is space.

I also had this interaction and can confirm redemption triggers sky pirate instead of scallywag!

I’ve seen this happen multiple times in the last two weeks with just one Scallywag on the board. It doesn’t seem to happen on Round 1, but it also could behave different depending on whether the Scallywag is attacking or being attacked. Help?
