Does anyone know how the amount of points you get at the end of a match is calculated?
I’m hoving around 5.8k and 6k and only play maybe 3 or 4 games a day and for a first I get about 100 points.
I was watching RDU play on his NA smurf account around the same rank and he was getting around 170 odd for a 1st place.
Why are the points awarded for around the same rank so different?
I assume where you’re at there are just alot more people.
Making the wins gain less when there are alot of lower ranked people.
In higher ranks the pool is less big so maybe you win against someone thats 300 mmr higher than you, giving you more mmr for that

I think if you group up with people of higher mmr you could get more for a win and less for a loss.
Depending on the availability

I can answer you dude, if you’re at this mmr and you actually just doing top 4 at least every game, you’re gonna win more points because the game understand your good winstreak like it’s not your real mmr, si you win more points to get your real rank
Hope i was clear and helpful
not sure I understand you. I have pretty much never got more than 105 points for a win from 5k to 6k on EU.
RDU was getting 170 for around 5.8k.
So going by the replies, there are more lower ranked players in EU so I get less for beating them.
If I was playing against 7 other 5.8k players I should get more points.
It would be good if you had an average BG rank at the start or end of a BG for all players.
Past losses are also taken into account.
If you have 0 losses in your history you will gain more points regardless of your current mmr as they system trys to “place you”.
The vary thing you said in your post his “smurf” account right there tells us what is happening. Smuf accounts do not have many losses on there record as such get more points. Back when bgs first game out streams where making new accounts the moment they got there first loss (sub 4th place) in order to keep there rating gain as high as possible to push for the highest.
As soon as you get a loss it will drop significantly and each loss will reduce it to a point as the system thinks your in the right spot.
The main factors are the other guys mmr thou. While his also furthers the smurf account thing as blizzard has said the system will place you vs higher and lower sometimes significantly higher or lower based on your history to see how you do. If you win when you where expected to lose will gain a good amount of points but if you lose wont lose much. This helps people place quicker by raising to whee they should be quicker. This also works the other way if you lose when expected to win a significant amount of rating can be lost.
If your in a bracket you often face vs people of higher mmr you will more often than not get more mmr in a game to catch you up. If you tend to always get placed vs lower people you will gain less per game but also assuming your mmr is correct win alot more.
Blizzard has made a post saying there is about 50 diffrent things that are taken into account so what has been listed here is no where near all the points.
