Hi there folks.
Im an avid enthusiast of playing Hearthstone in BG mode.
2000 hours played.
Theres only one issue i have, and that is performance problems while on my phone, and to a certain extend an issue that is basically consistent on any device, no matter the performance and is related to board builds, especially in duo.
I recently had a game, where it ended up being a battle between 2 teams, both consisting of animal deathrattle supreme buffboard and quilboar deathrattle buffboard.
A single round of fight took 4 minutes to finish.
Even on my pc, where i would have zero performance issues, that fight would be so long, i probably would not have any time left for working on the board (board was already basically perfect, so not that much of an issue for ME, but for the other players definitly. Probably a big part of the win was exactly that).
What i do not understand is, that sometimes the game decides to go into turbo animation mode, basically skipping a lot of stuff, sometimes it does not.
Having a skip animation option as a feature would be amazing.
Especially since having a complex shuffleboard while playing on PC basically already rewards people for forcefully disconnecting to skip combat, to have more time in building phase, an issue that is as old as battlegrounds are, and could be totally avoided by giving the player the option to skip the combat animations baseline.
I have the solution:
When plaing BG duos, I will sometimes lag out, and my game will have to reconnect me. When it reconnects me it skips all animations and I’m on my buy phase. and I know the game is still being fought because my teammate didn’t lag out and is telling me what’s happening in the fight as I buy during the next round.
so if you really want to skip the animations, you could either get really spotty internet, or you could probably close Hearthstone(like x out the tab, idk how to do that or if its possible on mobile), then go back in. If you won you will be in your buy phase while the fight is still going, if you lost I assume it would just put you back to the main menu, but idk.
Appreciate your answer, but like i already described in my last paragraph, im aware of disconnecting to skip combat, as it is the most used tool for shuffleboards (like bran murlocs, bran elemental, some demon boards, gold gen mechboards and especially pirate boards).
Its just such a stupid method to play the game in a state that allows you to… well actually play the game.
Having a feature to skip would just do the job, especially since forcefully skipping with fake dc is already known as a solution.
There should either be an aknowledgment of the issue that leads people to dc skip and a workaround, or dc skip should be prevented to not achieve a gamestate where an external factor like “oh, i know how to exploit around this problem” is a more important skillfactor than strategys and RNG are.
Oh that’s my bad I didn’t see that you already knew that.
It would be nice to have an animation skip button. I think the real answer though would be to do what they had to do with Nozdormu back in the good old days. He had a similar thing where you could just skip your opponents turn, not entirely sure I remember how they fixed that, but that could probably do something similar with BG.
or they could just add a skip animations button, but that seems unlikely.
