Battleground card hording?

so you are against something, you don’t have space to play anything but have a decent board, you see a card or two that you know your opponent is looking for so you buy them to take them out of the limited pool and just hold them in hand indefinitely, blocking your opponent from being able to advance any further!

I have seen a few streamers doing this so far, just wondering what peoples thoughts on this ‘strategy’ are? should it be allowed ?

It is allowed but it isn’t good. The only time I hoard is when I tripled and got nothing I want but I know there are things people want so I hoard. Even then, if I ever need 1 more gold, I will sell it without hesitant. Strengthen your board is the most important way to get top 4.

Why wouldn’t it be allowed? It’s the whole point of having a finite pool of minions. If you have something, you reduce the other guy’s chances of getting one.

Its a losing strategy to keep minions from opponent. Always look to improve your own situation. Your are hurting yourself more in the long run.

say you have a full board of beasts, if you get a triple and the options are Kangore’s sneeds and megasaur so like no good for your beasts build, you know one of your opponants is playing murloc right? it costs you nothing to take the megasaur and maybe you don’t play it or even have to room to?

now it isn’t losing strategy and is actually depriving another player of that card that might just give his board divine shield poison?

There are exceptions that it is ok to take it in that scenario. You should never aim to spend gold to keep minions from opponent is a better way for me to put it.

Its generally not worth it. You are almost never taking the last minion copy in the pool even if its tier 6 with the fewest total in the pool. So spending gold to attempt to sabotage 1 opponent that you might never face seems like the potato play. Missing on a triple and just hate drafting a card is a different situation as the gold you spent usually upgraded your board with the fuse and the bonus discover doesn’t cost you gold.

I mean, you don’t have Beasts if you don’t have Mama Bear yet. Not a winning Beasts board anyway. I’d grab the Sneed’s and see if I can’t put together a Deathrattle build. It can also handle poison divine shield murlocs if the health totals aren’t too high.

I’d buy a zap maybe or from tripling if I’m already t6 and not much can be done to upgrade my board while having a baron I don’t wanna get sniped or something. Otherwise no.

I will buy Trigore the lasher any day, whatever tribe I am playing. There is always a beast player, and that card is the Only card a beast player is looking for now days.
