Is this just me? Most of these cards look and feel like commons or rates, definitely not legendaries. The Druid one for example - after you cast a nature spell, give a friendly minion +2/+2. That could easily be a common or rare and no one would blink. The Mage one is worse, with an effect literally on a basic card. The hunter and warlock ones seem to be the only ones with interesting designs - every other one is just boring.

Yup the whole expansion is severely uninspired. The art is weak, the new game board has minimal interaction and feels dead.
Unsurprisingly, the first book (Rokara) was boring and predictable. The MC was cringeworthy, and all the bosses played the same tired “Book of hero” way - conserve cards and spam hero power until you can pull your 10-mana swing turn ftw.

I liked the book of heroes, it was such a heartwarming story of friendship and believing in yourself.

The druid one definitly feels like a legendary effect to me. It seems like they are really attaching these mercenaries to spell schools.
I will agree that the Mage one is underwhelming.
The priest mercenary can nuke the enemy board. Mordresh does it better, but Xyrella isn’t bad. Tamsin can duplicate removals and give the duplicates a lower cost. Bru’kan turns two lightning spells into 12 to the face if I remember right. I’ll take 12 face damage with a minion for 6 mana. Plus his diamond version looks awesome.

Out of the ten mercenary legendary cards, except for Tamsin Roame, I would tend to agree that they are not the most interesting Legendaries in terms of the effects that they provide and in comparison to the previous released cards.
Have you not been to the barrens in WoW? Not much there but Mankrik and his dead wife.

are there any cool easter eggs like that hidden on the board?
I figure the drums might have some secret sequence but I haven’t heard anyone mention it yet.
And the board does really suck regardless. Something repeatable on the oil rig would have been nice. And instead of the wagon… which just breaks down, could have been a raptor nest, or oasis… something memorable.
