As you know, the barrel of sludge cards have recently been added with the Badlands expansion. Some of the new warlock cards that have been added, such as ‘Sludge on Wheels’ and ‘Disposal Assistant’ have the ability to put a ‘Barrel of Sludge’ on the bottom of your deck. In combination with ‘Waste Remover’, this combination could make for a fun deck archetype. However, there’s a problem with regards to the placement of the sludges in the deck when playing against plague Death Knight. As plagues are shuffled into the deck, the ‘Barrel of Sludge’ cards are removed from the bottom and reshuffled into the deck. This, of course, takes away the whole idea of the sludge playstyle, causing the ‘Waste Remover’ card to just burn usefull cards in the deck, leaving the ‘Barrel of Sludge’ cards somewhere in the deck. I know that the ‘Barrel of Sludge’ cards are not being replaced by the plagues. This, due to the fact that even though the ‘Barrel of Sludge’ cards are removed from the bottom, the ‘Waste Remover’ does not burn plagues, but instead burns regular cards from the deck. When using the ‘Deck Tracker’ application, this phenomenon is also visible (cards that are being placed on the bottom of the deck are shown explicitly). After plagues are shuffled into the deck, the ‘Barrel of Sludge’ cards that were shown to be present on the bottom at first dissapear from the bottom as shown by the ‘Deck Tracker’ application.
Hello. This is not a bug. As you explained, plagues shuffle your whole deck and change the positions of the cards. So if barrel of sludge is your game plan, you will have difficulties against plague DK. Same goes for the Reno decks (well Reno decks have Steamcleaner to counter plagues).

Thanks for the reply! I didn’t know plagues worked like that

More precisely, any card that states “put” a card in your deck will just insert the card in a given position and let the rest of the deck untouched
Any card that states “shuffle” a card in your deck will shuffle the whole deck
Some localisations don’t separate the cases and translate both to the equivalent of “put” which is misleading on how it works
