I think it would be a cool idea to have an option to ban a SINGLE HERO you wouldn’t want to play against in a standard game

So you could play mirrors all day? Whats the point. There are like 3 playable classes at most in a meta. Sure lets ban one of them. Wohoo, 2 class meta. Or when we have 1 class metas …lets ban. Uhmm…wait.

If decks could ban one bad matchup, a lot more decks would become viable.
this to me reminds me of what I think Twist should have been.
Instead of team 5 dictating what Twist decks are,
I think players should be allowed to choose from a set # of expansions
for cards to build their decks with. I think seven expansions is what is allowed in standard, so choose cards from any seven expansions would have been cool.

Meta deck A bans bad matchup B.
So does every other player with braincells. Because there are so few viable meta decks/classes the result is almost nothing bit mirrors. People arent dumb enough to ban shaman when NO ONE plays shaman. So i play warrior, ban plague DK because im highlander and dont want plagues. Surprise! Brann warrior mirror!

I’d prefer if they instead made the option of a hero ban available in BGs, such as a perk one might be given with the tavern pass. In this perk you can pick 2 heroes you never want to be offered. And for the rest of us without the pass, let them pick 1 hero to never be offered.
I think the data gathered by this alone would give a nice bit of insight to the playerbase (both the paying ones and the wider community at large) as to which heroes need attention for retiring or tweaking their hero power or gimmick.
As for other modes, yeah I dont see it being a viable thing.

It doesn’t matter which classes are playable. If you allow players to ban a single class, most of them will choose Priest for the sole reason it’s Priest.
You can bet the house on it.

Only if:
- You only get matched with people banning the same thing you are. Have fun with Brann Warrior mirrors.
Or
- You can really only ban a hero, not a class. So you don’t see any more Nemsy portraits, but your Warlock opponents use another random skin from their collections.

Only if they make some new kind of mode that mimicks tournament style play where both players have a 4 deck lineup and play conquest format matches and that mode will probably die faster than anything else that came before.
Sure ban priest all you want. Waste your ban on a class that sees 0 play. The rest of us who try to actually climb will try banning something relevant. If priest somehow becomes viable then your own point falls because then its banned because its good. People dont ban because of class bias. They ban relevant matchups. At least those who try using their head.
But by all means. Ban priest. Its not played anyway. Waste your ban.
You say that, but in another thread created before this one I made the same comment about how it would just be Priest getting banned mostly and lots of people replied that’s exactly what they would do.
I don’t think you quite understand the vast amount of players that hate playing against Priest. Even if it’s bad. Even in this meta. It’s to the point people just outright wish the class didn’t exist.
Sure, as you go up in play level and ranks you won’t see that as much. But you can bet the house that in Bronze-Diamond ranks Priest would easily be at the top of the ban list, even if it saw little to no play. That’s just how much people hate Priest.
This is true about priest and mage both.
Honestly, Team 5 should just delete both classes, but they are greedy, and so they will keep on making cards that are crap for both classes.
Other classes can beat you in the same way that those two do, but it’s only those classes that players scream about.
And players here say I’m tied to a portrait. lol.
And the sole reason both are so polarizing is that Team 5 made two extra classes and so ruined the harmony of the game design.
Now in order to have the appearance of diversity, they have to make situational rng, perpetual rez effects, and pure coin flips the prevailing factors.
If they did this Priest would get banned more than any other class and it wouldn’t even be a contest.

Would priest get the ban in a meta where mage was prominent but priest mostly absent?
I wonder if priest would still be the top choice in this current incarnation of the game.
Poll the player base either here or reddit. Priest would win.
Try to find how many times someone has said delete a Class on these forums.
It’s almost extensively priest being mentioned.
Priest is by far and away the most complained about and has almost never had a tier one deck. Only a handful of times.
It’s just a thing. People are complaining about mage when mage is good. People complain about priest even if it’s the worst deck.
If you just add up the amount of complaints about big priest in wild alone, it would be more complaints than any other class has had in its entire run.

make it an autoconcede so the ban cant be used to make climbing easier and instead of starting a game vs that class you lose stars whenever you get matched vs it (and start matchmaking again automatically )
When i need cheered up from a bad day and i want lots of friend invites. I just go to a trusty (no win condition) priest. Twenty minutes later i get the best anger rants.
