I saw a lot of people on YouTube saying this card would break the game. Now after trying the new expansion I agree. Azerite snake has broken me, I only lost a single game to it on turn 9 but I think I’m done with hearthstone for a bit until the snake gets nerfed into oblivion. 0 ways to reliably counter it play around it, guaranteed death without healing or armor saving you. What were they thinking?
Oh but have you played against Turn 5 Demon Hunter? That’s even more fun to play against.
For late game decks: Lethality, disruption, copy from hand/board effects, health gain effects, slow down the excavation process by silencing the 4/5.
The excavate effects are low tempo plays, which aggressive decks can punish.
Yeah, the Snake is good but come on. At least try.
Yeah…if you don’t have immediate answers to that DH deck you’re toast.
It’s getting to the point where if you don’t have huge heals or armor, your deck better be hardcore aggro.
I’ve been playing some modified Frost DK. I have to say a bunch of these decks including The Warlocks hate those chain Cold Feet being played on them. Those DH decks i think are more dangerous IMO.
Its just boring. THe game didnt need another from hand damage deck. Its not traditional OTK but its an OTK in spirit and that is stale as stale can be after 4 months.
I have not sounds cancerous, hopefully that gets a nerf too.
Is sharpshooter the win con of the demon hunterndeck?
That card is stheno all over again in a way.
I am aware of the options, I even mentioned a few in my post. Im not an aggro player, and I dont intend to play this game in a manner I dont enjoy just to counter this single deck. Its already getting a nerf so it seems Bliz and others agree with me
Don’t expect nothing crazy though. It will probably be changed to dealing damage with lifesteal and maybe the damage will also be a reduced a bit so you have to summon it an extra time to do the 30 to 0 hp combo.
Neither of those work against the snake. It lowers your max health, it isn’t dealing damage.
Yeah, I’m really not a fan of the power plays this game keeps making expansion after expansion.
It feels like I’m waiting until the balance patch after the mini set before the game feels ok again, and then a new set comes out and it’s back to square 1
I think there’s a couple of terrible things happening to the game.
-
The devs literally don’t care about balance. They don’t even eyeball balance, 4 mana for a 20 pt permanent swing in the most important resource in the game? Really?
-
Because of the above point, there exist crazy power outlier cards. If it’s not the snake, it’s some card that DH abuses, or it’s the ogre resurrect minion. At this point, even if they nerf snake, it will be some other power outlier card that the entire meta will build around.
-
It gets old really fast having games repeatedly determined by these power outliers. The whole point of balance in games like this is to emphasise there are multiple paths to victory for good pilots who can see the outs. When nearly all power in this game is concentrated in a few cards we get the opposite effect, everyone focusing to targeted strategies to counter their effects, and that leaves little room for the agency and creativity of good players to shine through.
-
All these effects stated above are compounded when the power outlier cards are “from hand” strategies, meaning the number of ways opponents can interact are even fewer, leaving only disrupt tactics as the only feasible counters.
I have always preferred hearthstone back when decks with just good stats could be good decks on par with the pre-built packages that Blizz made.
It doesn’t even feel good playing things like Azerite snake or blindeye, because the cards literally scream “this is how you win with me, and your opponent can’t stop it!”
