Aura effect question

What is everyone’s mindset on minions keeping health on injured minions after you kill a aura minion. Example would be I killed a Southsea Captain and a 5/2 injured minion turns into a 4/2. I personally feel like it should lose the health. :thinking:

I think it was explained a lot multiple times.

Thats just how the aura is coded.

If the minion would be 5/1 that would mean once Captain is down, that minion would be wiped too because it would turn to 4/0

I just don’t see how Southsea Captain has survived 2 core set rotations at this point. It’s much more of a Murloc-style tribal card than a pirate one. It’s also a board buff card that gives health, which GENERALLY Blizzard has tried to phase out.

They have tried to get rid of charge minions and then printed Smite so…

A) No they haven’t. They sort of, kind of tried to reduce efficient damage from hand.
B) Smite is designed around the fact that it’s really expensive for what it is.

It’s just also really unintuitive for an aura effect to boost stats like this.

You’re right. When South Sea Captain dies, minions lose 1 attack, they should lose 1hp regardless of their damage or hp total. If they’re at 1hp they should die

I would personally like it if they just made it take gained health away but not less than one if that is a fair compromise. Just losing nothing at all in all situations but extra health is silly.

Yeah that’s fair. No idea why they’ve never addressed it
