As a rogue i look forward to thief rogue leaving

Thief rogue i hope goes away, it has had its time for now and i will so look forward to not having to face 5 or 6 objections and counterspells a game.

As a rogue player I strongly disagree with you and love to see more thief rogue. Different playstyles, different taste.

as a non rogue player, I agree with you, I’d like to be able to predict all classes.
a rogue I have no damn clue what they gonna do… kinda hard to play around rng.

I’ve never seen so much hate for like a 40% win rate deck. Just play any of the numerous brain dead aggro decks in the meta and you will crush them 90% of the time. I get you got mega high rolled in that one match but its really not a viable deck right now.

I was enjoying thief rogue a bit earlier this year but kinda forgot about it. Gonna have to get a few games in with it before rotation.

Just listing what thief rogue might miss from rotation

Barrnes:
Yoink!
Scabbs minion

Stormwind:
Blackwater Cutlass
SI:7 Extortion
Parrrley
Edwin

Alterac:
Reconnaissance
Tooth of Nefarian
Wildpaw Gnoll
Double Agent
Lobotomizer
Contraband Stash
Cera’thine Fleetrunner
Scabbs hero

The ones in Alterac are probably the most significant.

We don’t know if Tess will remain in core, if not then rogue basically loses the ability to repeat stolen cards played.

I wouldn’t rule out thief rogue completely though, as here are some still good thief cards:

Sunken City:
Jackpot!
Swiftscale trickster
Gone Fishin (generally good for draw)

Nathria:
Serrated Bone SPike
Secret package

Lich King:
Shadow of Demise
Concoction package
Ransack

I didn’t mention Hooktusk from sunken city until now because while she does steal cards, it’s not the same as usual thief rogue. I do think she has a chance to be the next rogue deck though, even if the resulting deck is probably not going to play like thief rogue does now.

Jackpot Rogue has been one of my staple decks since I got back into Hearthstone a couple months ago. I made my own changes to the deck so it’s not base jackpot rogue but I enjoy it. Thief rogue decks are extremely fun and give me a chance to use cards I normally wouldn’t get to. I personally don’t want thief rogue gone but it’s all personal opinion.

Given the success of the deck, I highly doubt they’ll let it die for long. My guess is it will get (hopefully less obnoxious) support going forward.

Hooktusk is just so expensive and slow, it doesn’t really match up with what Rogue is trying to do most of the time. If it were in a better deck, though, I think it would be heavily complained about. People complain about “thief” priest, but they (mostly) just copy cards. Hooktusk literally takes them like Theotar, and Theotar was always being complained about.

There’s a meme pirate rogue deck on HSReplay the low ranks. Went against a boar druid and out-memed my opponent, literally stole all of their cards with parrrley and shadowstepping Hooktusk. They regretted playing dew process that match lol

The problem and strength of the archtype is that is scaled, but only because it rode the backs of other classes.

It got mages super powerful, power creep secrets, and fewer of these cards for just itself. Reconnaissance used to be better with a smaller pool, other classes pools that is.

Anyway too much rng for me. You are screwed when they discover objection and counterspell as the first two secrets, and the rogue is dead when they whiff.
