I’ve been playing arena since HS came out. Usually, I play arena and BGs after I get legend and get bored by the rock-paper-scissor nature of constructed. Tempo used to matter a lot more in arena and it also tended to be slower than constructed. In the past two years however, I feel that RNG has taken a central role in arena and whoever generates the most powerful cards wins. Here’s a sequence of events which kinda tilted me:
I was playing vs. a Shaman-Druid at 0-0. I stabilized in late-game, had 6 cards in hand and the opponent had 2. One of his cards was generated by Pyrotechnician in a previous turn.
Opponent forged something → killed my 8/6 giant with Molten Rune (mage card) → molten rune generated Symphony of Sins (warlock card) → Movement of Wrath - cleared the rest of my board. Next turn he topdecked Movement of Greed and drew 6 cards and I fell behind and eventually lost.
I’m fine with card generation, I’m fine with randomness, I’m not fine with randomly generating cards from other classes (in arena at least). At least if you generate cards from your class (or dual-class) I can make some reasonable assumptions and adjust my plays.
TL;DR: I wish card generation was kept within the class you’re playing in arena. Thoughts?
