I’ve had 8 free passes from the most recent xpac and I believe maybe a few from before that. I literally won no more than 5 games. No matter which cards I picked, and it seemed I usually had very poor choices, my opponents always seemed to have a better card. And why in the hell is the druid 4/12 dragon that puts 7 dream shards in your deck even a card anyone can get in arena? Jesus, I got my butt handed to me twice on a druid opponent getting that.
Yeah I probably suck, but good god, there must be something more to arena handing my butt to me than my ability to play it. And this is why I NEVER play arena. Not once did I get any amazing card out of 8 decks/runs like the druid dragon or the mage guy that feeds you fireballs.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was somehow revealed that arena can be hacked.
Like, 5 games total, or your best run was 5 games? Because a 5-win run is pretty good for someone who doesn’t play Arena a lot.
5 games total. Maybe it was 8. But I definitely won no more than 1 per run.

I’m sorry to hear you hate it so much but to me its my favorite and best mode. It requires a lot of practice and cards that are good in standard are often bad in arena just like mediocre cards never seem in standard are good in arena.
I’ve never been above Gold in Standard or Wild, but I did get a 7-win key from Arena in the current meta. I’d say load up your deck with cards that generate other cards. The Discover keyword can get you a monster card even if you don’t get offered one when you build your deck.
Arena can be counter intuitive, honestly. Cards that never see play in standard can rule the arena meta, and it can be unclear why or which ones they are. You’ve got to play and see what works, and even then you can get trounced by someone who high rolled their draft. Keep trying and you’ll find a sweet spot that gets you high in the arena ranks.
The key to getting over being a low winrate arena player is pretty simple. Tempo wins those early games pretty consistently.
