Is that what this new battle pass is taking away?
Not from what Iâve seen. Just get a new quest once every 12 hours instead of once every 24 hours?
it you look we get all same monthly daily rewards but if pay you get bit extra (in form of gold legendary or avatar)
instead of golds, you are getting XP.
XP can give you 150 gold once you are at level 50.
By playing you get XP (instead of 3 wins = 10 gold) (right, or is 10 gold still here?).
So I think that at the end, we just need to see how hard is it to go to level 50 and complete a new level without the pass, to understand if the new system is more or less rewarding
So again, the daily quest gold is going away? Is Blizzard saying that anywhere?
yep
they told us to complete all gold quests before the revamp goes live or we lose them
Yup, quest gold is being turned into quest XP now. From the progression revamp announcement (emphasis mine):
The Quest system is also seeing a revamp, with Quests now awarding XP on the Reward Track. Weâve also added Weekly Quests! At the start of every week (Monday at 12:00 a.m. PT), youâll be given 3 new Weekly Quests to complete, which are a little more difficult than your average Daily Quest. Like Daily Quests, you can reroll 1 Weekly Quest per day. While they now award XP, Daily Quests are functionally the same. Weâre also pleased to share that Legendary Quests will no longer override your Daily Quests! Legendary Quests are a series of special event quest that cannot be rerolled.
Thank You for that information!
Youâll still get gold daily if you play every day. Itâll just be the XP that gets you the gold rewards, rather than the quests directly.
But it looks like to me they are eliminating you earning gold every day and whatever gold you did earn is now going to take longer to make the same amount right? They are just making it so you have to spend more time playing, am i right?
Hard to say at this time, they claim it should be the same or better for most players. Important thing to notice is that you receive stuff every time u level up. This comes in the form of packs, gold and cosmetics. Personally I guess you will still receive the same stuff in gold value but a lot of it will be tied to packs, meaning it wil be harder to hoard gold for a new expansion
For what I understood, you canât just log in and earn 50-60 gold by AFK 3 games as class X.
But, if you want to play many games, you may earn 100 gold (made up number) every hour.
We have to wait till it is out, because now itâs very vague, but the idea is that you can earn all the gold that you want just by playing the game and not only by completing quests, which is great
The goal is to get you to pay for packs, arena and duel tickets up front.
It just further separates payed / ftp. Personally Iâm a whale, it doesnât bother me. But I understand the mistrust when Blizz assures people they arenât reducing potential gains.
Technically, by the END of the expansion cycle, you will have gotten the same amount (or more) of packs than the current system. That is the message Blizzard has been hiding behind. The difference will be that you wont start earning free gold (that you spend as you choose) until you complete the battle pass.
The most efficient way to usually earn new packs and start being competitive in the new expansion (IMO) is to use your daily gold on arena tickets where you will most likely break even or better just by mindlessly letting Heartharena build for you.
Now the new expansion cards will be slowly drip-fed to you, rather than 1-ish pack guaranteed per day, sort of making it pay-to-win, because the first players who have access to all the new meta cards will have an advantage for a while (no idea how long it takes to complete battlepass). Also, it will be harder to earn gold for duel/arena runs.
I wonât miss the 50g quests, before the quest system was better. What I probably miss are 80g friend quests, sometimes I get 2 friend quest in a single day. This week alone I played 6 80g quests and once a month luckily get one or two 100g quests⌠I guess we are going to wait and see how it works.
well have to see how long does it take to reach lv 50 and the max lv
after 50 you get 150 gold each lv
Its not super complicated.
- The new system is replacing gold from daily quests with âexperienceâ.
- Earning experience carries a player along the progression track.
- Going up a level on the progression track earns a player gold, packs, and other rewards.
- Once a player has reached the highest level on the track (50) every level beyond that gives 150 gold.
- Each progression track lasts as long as the expansion season ⌠so there will be 4 tracks a year.
- You can pay money (how much TBD) to enter the âpaidâ side of the progression track which will give you additional rewards ON TOP of the normal progression track rewards.
- The paid progression track rewards are all cosmetic (no gold or cards) but does give the player a X% experience bonus so they will move up the progression track faster.
Daily quests are not going away. They are just changing so that they give you experience which gives you gold indirectly instead of directly. Theyâre also adding weekly quests and other accomplishments that give players experience and other rewards.
My expectation is that the amount of gold a player can earn for free every season is probably going to be about the same as under the current system ⌠however it may actually give out more gold. We wonât know this for sure for a while, but Iâm cautiously optimistic. A lot will depend on how much XP it takes to go up levels and stuff.
