Just came back after a couple years and the current meta is really bummin me out but I saw the new yogg and chaotic tendrils and thought they looked fun, I loved seeing how crazy I could make Yogg back in the old gods expansion so I was wondering if anyone had a whacky deck that given enough RNG is still capable of winning some games.
Chaotic tendril is the reason Sunset Volley got “nerfed” to 9 mana. When Whizbang broke, the only two 10-cost spells were Table Flip and Sunset. So there were very annoying Rogue and Shaman (Shudderblock) decks abusing Tendrils to no end. Now there is Sea Shanty which would summon three 5/5 do nothing pirates, a far cry from Sunset’s 10 dmg to face plus random 10-cost summon. It wont work in this meta.
Yeah, best moments of fun in nowadays meta with Yogg’s tendrils is where you end up playing a value game where you’re out of cards to play and then fill your hand with those to hope for swinging the game in your favor
That’s why I put yogg in my sludgelock deck for when I run out of the gas xD Unfortunately, most of the times it just steals one zilliax and dies afterwards
That’s a real shame I was hoping there was a light at the end of this zilliax filled tunnel, on an off note are there any good miracle or burgle rogue decks atm?
Excavate Rogue has been a solid deck since Badlands hit last year. It’s fallen off recently because of Zilliax warrior and druid endgames, but it can even win against them by pulling whatever out of its hiney to win in a clutch. Or die horribly, one of the two.
Example (tweak to your liking, I was running Paparrazzi to complete an achievement, but they actually do ok in the deck regardless; drop one or both of them for an extra Pit Stop and another card of your choosing e.g. Marin).
The ideal opener is Oscillator on 1; coin, Preparation, Pit Stop, 6/4 Drilly on 2

I was really into Brann warrior with the tendrils, and when the change to Sunset Volley made the deck unplayable in Standard, I just took the deck to wild. It’s not a great deck against a lot of the meta, but it can win games, and I think it’s really fun when you do get to play a bunch of tendrils and cast a lot of random spells. It could also probably be optimized further for wild since it’s a standard list, but I am lazy and already know how to play this deck, so I didn’t make any changes.
