Anyone else notice there's a lot of Deathrattles in this Set

And that going hard on Deathrattles after printing out a card like Reno is uh, certainly a choice I guess?

What does that have to do with Reno? Playing Reno removes the minions from the game without proccing the deathrattle, so…

But it is, however, the asnwer to the game having too much swingy board clears in general. We need something to stick on the board to be able to play the game

I mean, the fact that Reno removes them without proccing anything is kind of the point? A lot of the DRs also have decent mana costs which means they are much more likely to be playing into Reno as well.

Im afraid i dont know where you are going with this.

What is your point? That the new expansion is weaker than the previous maybe? Or that Reno decks are going to be stronger than they are now because of the many new deathrattles?

That could be true, we’ll see

Playing highlander is going to be a lot more difficult in a 4 set season. I kinda like that about highlander, in that the power level of the cards swings a bit throughout the year.

More like if Reno gets played as much as he currently is, a decent amount of this set basically can’t be played.

What RinseWizard though is true though; Highlander decks will be weaker just on the account of rotation, which might lead to less Reno decks getting played.

I wouldn’t mind that to be the case xD

Although I suspect that if that happens, it’s because something even more annoying came

I think they didn’t nerf Brann yet because of how much weaker Highlander decks are gonna be after rotation. Let’s just take a look of the main cards every deck loses:

Warrior - Brann, School Teacher, Lavagorger, Finley, Trial by Fire
Hunter - Trinket Tracker, Hope of Quel’thalas, some less important stuff like wildseeds, Faithful Companions, Lorthemar Theron
Druid - Aquatic Form, Topior, Planted Evidence, Seedsman (plus Nourish)
Shaman - Schooling, Cold Storage, Framester, Primordial Wave, big shaman stuff
Paladin - Leviathan, Anachronos
DH - Felerin, Xhi’lag, Topple their Idols
Priest - ??

Plus everyone is losing Astalor which is a staple in all Highlander decks (and one of warrior’s win condition). Druid and Warrior in specially are losing main, irreplaceable pieces of the deck. Hunter, DH and Shaman should have good enough pieces to replace them, and I don’t see how Paladin and Priest could build a decent highlander deck.

So at least for now I think that deathrattle and location-based decks (like handlock) might have a role in the next meta.

Reno won’t be played bec Plagues will dominate.
Steamcleaner rotating and all that.

The most important thing is that Plague DK will always bully Reno out of being meta.

Agreed.

Deathrattle is significantly weaker than things that have immediate effect and they are leaning into deathrattles, which are effectively worthless when things can poof your board.

Reno was printed at the same time as plague dk support skyrocketed too. Its just blizzard, they just do things. They dont check anything. Print cards, cash in and forget anout everything else

I see what OP is saying, but it’s just one card. Like any other round of HS, do your best not to play into it.

I like the idea of more DRs because it seems the devs want to lean more into board presence instead of burst damage, which in turn means you should have some counters thus it’s good to have a card like Reno.

a good one

lots of DR and acounter to balance it
